Ought to do it by pounds of duckies. shoot lil teal babies, get maybe 8 or 9. Mallards, stop at 3, 4 if you can make it a green full house, your day is over if you smack momma. Gads & widgeon are middle sized, so 6 will do. Maybe make a unversal duck strap, and you can shoot till you cant get anymo heads on one side...itd make people shoot for the little ones! hehe.
Divers? All you can clean. Proof of cleaning required.
Guys with dogs should get extra space on their straps. Guys with bad ass black dawgs ought to get an extra strap. travis

2 mallards and 1 other. that one other could be anything other than a mallard. I too had more fun when the limit was lower. The ducks weren't pressured, and they seemed to come in to the dekes without the aid of any kind of gizmo or gadget. I will shoot whatever the limit is set forth by the feds. I wish they would lower it simply to relieve the crowded public land and lower lease prices where people other than doctors can afford them.

Dutch Dog hit the nail on the head. Something like a 3 duck limit will probably only happen in our dreams. Or if the population goes way down from killin' hens.

3 of anything, no susies. Get the neuvo riche out of the sport, and back on the golf course. Then raise it back slowly after they leave.

I would have to go with Crow on Ethics and Hunters, but I like msdawgs 4 duck limited. I would change 3 thing 4 gadwalls,4 widgeon, and 4 woodies, not that I shoot them but for those redneck hunters they will at least get to limit out on something.

Just for you Anatidae, I'll answer your question....just as soon as you answer my question..."What is truth?" And, be sure to include only universal facts and no words that vary based on personal experience or individual values. Now, you know you can't take a philosophical question with a word like "best" in it and turn it into an analytical one. That would be faulty logic...like saying, "The dog is yours; the dog is a mother; therefore the dog is your mother." We know that ain't right, but it's what one gets when one tries to take a question of one kind of value and change it to another. Non sequitur!
Hope you boys have a good day tomorrow. Save a couple for me; I'll be home for the holidays and a couple of weekends later. Hope to see some of you boys in the woods!

That's precisely my point. As I'm sure most are aware, "Best" obviously has a different meaning, depending on individual preference, interpretation, or personal agenda (as evidenced by the varied responses to the question, thus far). Some have only taken themselves into account while others have voiced scenarios that would be good for the ducks and the state of our 'sport' of duck hunting. I can't even offer an opinion on the subject without setting some perameters.
Forgive me for being so analytical.....that's just my nature, especially when I'm attempting to accurately represent my views or are trying to interpret those of others. It's just part of what I call 'communication'. I appreciate your comments......no offense taken nor intended.

Anatidae, what I like about you is that you do a great job framing your responses...there is never any doubt where you stand on an issue. Plus, you have a good eye for guns and, apparently, the good sense to marry an outdoorswoman. I can't get away from my nature either (humanities). Unlike you, I never like working anything down to the "right" answer. Heck, then there's nothing to argue over! Most times, I'll take any side of an argument just to make sure there is an argument! But, I always know what I think, personally, about most issues.
Now, really, does a tree falling in the woods make any noise if noone or anything is around to hear it? Kinda makes me think about a couple of years ago when I was hunting flooded timber a couple of days after that big ice storm. I can tell you for sure they made noise that day!
