I thought about that angle, but decided not too...
The only reason I mentioned it is because I know what a hard job is. I know what life or death decisions are and the consequences of getting it wrong. I also know that sometimes soldiers do bad things, not all soldiers are good guys and sometimes bad things happen. When someone says the Mai Lai Massacre (for example) was horrible and the guys that commited that atrocity are some bad apples and deserve to be punished, I don't get offended, I don't assume you're talking about me. Why do some refuse to acknowledge that there are bad apples in their respective fields? Why when I say that I've had bad experiences with certain GW's do some read that I dislike all LEO's? When I've been mistreated, I won't just sit quietly and say nothing. If it's not you, it's not you, and don't assume I'm referring to you. But there are three GW's in North Mississippi who have abused their positions and not treated me or friends fairly or even lawfully. One is retired (dead I think), one is in prison for molesting his handicapped niece, and the other was run out of this area for his actions. None were wingman.

I'd like to think soldiers and cops have a totally different line of work, but the thing with being a cop is, when bad guys come at you with a gun, society expects you to pepper spray them and cuff them without harming them. And heaven forbid an unarmed assailant gets shot. Heck, I can't even take my AR out when I'm approaching folks with shotguns and rifles without being told that's too harsh. Let a man come running after you with a 12 gauge in his hand and you draw your pistol. Bam! Instant internet butthole.
I recognize this fact, I respect it, and I respect you. I have no problem whatsoever with you. You've been helpful to me in the past. I wish you wouldn't take my comments personally. I'll even add that I miss Robby Whatshisname that used to be in charge of The State Woods. He did a great job. Mike Powell always treated me fair and with respect, and Charlie Ingram was fair as well. I've been downright harassed by others though.

Believe you me, I know there are bad apples in every profession. I just know the officer in the deer incident is not a bad apple. He asked people to leave so that the deer could get out of the water and they told him it was a public road and he had no right to make them leave. He did what he was told to do afterwards. He was much nicer than I would've been.
Yet there are certain people in this world who will immediately jump to conclusions against law enforcement regardless of how much they know of the story. Many of them frequent this forum. I get the whole anti-government, anti-authority thing, but some folks really need to mind their own business.

Take a public service job, accept public scrutiny.....also, doesn't pay enough for all the junk one has to deal with.

I had a friend tell me that after it was all stirred up. I wish they would have put the whole explanation out there to begin with, but I do understand the pc side of it too.

Sure did! Took a little while but ended up fighting it myself bc attorneys didn't feel like it was strong enough case or didn't want to really fight against them. I ended up loosing a good chuck of money on the other hand also I had vested and stuff for 10 years. Attorney I believe could have got all of that and a lot more if I was able to settle with them for what I did. Once they agreed on my amount had to sign the dotted line not to ever file suit and so on against them or make publicly known everything. Best part was pissing their legal team off every week. They would send me stuff or call me on conferences and use these long big words I had no idea what it meant, so I made them speak 3rd grade level to me. 2 of them refused to speak with me after I had so many what's that mean, pronounce that again and Hu in the calls. But we happy with what I got for 10yr of work with them! Won't ever go back to them either!

Isn't that interfering with law enforcement or something? Could he have have got them for harassing wildlife so something?
Just wondering, not second guessing.
I told my wife there was more to this than what that letter to paper said. I wish the official release from the dept mentioned that the interference of the public but I too get the whole PC thing. It's a shame that now even in MS we got dipsticks that have no clue about wildlife. He should have let some of those concerned people "help bambi" and find out how sharp them 'huffs" are...

Failure to comply, or disorderly conduct comes to my mind.
