everything I have read says there are over 30 violations linked to women's basketball, track & field, and football. From my understanding either women's basketball or track & field were already on probation which isn't going to set well with the NCAA..

And my post was not luck.. If you Ole MIss fans didn't have your heads stuck so far up each others asses you would see the writing on the wall  Despite your thinking so, their is nothing special about Oxford or Ole Miss to those on the outside.. It is obvious to everyone in the outside world how you got those recruits to Oxford.. SO no my post had nothing to do with luck..

Question is can Ole Miss find a way to buy/wiggle their way out of this problem...

How interesting. Wonder if any posters from this thread will admit they were wrong (date: August 2013)
http://www.ducksouth.com/phpbb/viewtopi ... n#p1004545

And this from an ESPN article on 9/16/15 (http://espn.go.com/college-football/sto ... violations)
The NCAA has conducted an investigation into Ole Miss' athletic department that has dragged on for more than three years now.
So the investigation started prior to August 2012, for those keeping score at home.

Not much will come of this for the football program. Mostly the Tunsil stuff and some academic fraud connected to the ACT testing center in Waynesboro home of the infamous Jerrel Powe. But on a side note suposedly Conner took his ACT at said center and was a big reason he went to ole miss was they guaranteed him to get in where Bama told him it was not for sure. Just rumors though.

Because I'm tired of painting, is that based on the accusations being minor (who knows what they are anyway) or based on the NCAA's toothlessness?

And some articles have stated the Tunsil mess isn't part of this investigation/NOA, anyway.

Both. They may have to vacate some wins if the rumors of academic fraud are true other than that they may lose a little recruiting time and a couple of scholarships. In the end after three years they could not dig up too much dirt so no major penalties. People have gotten so good at hiding it(not just ole miss but everyone) that it is hard for the NCAA to prove anything. Unless someone involved gets mad and turns over hard evidence I don't think we will see any program take any major hits any time soon.

I think the NCAA knows Ole Miss is dirty, but they could not prove it. I think that is why the NCAA released this information on the eve of the biggest recruiting weekend of the year...they figure they cannot directly get them, so they are trying an indirect way of getting them. Just this man's theory.

I'm just tired of everyone jumping up and down about how Alabama is paying players, or Ole Miss is paying players, or LSU..... Give me a break. You're throwing stones in a glass house. Every single school in this great nation of ours is paying players some way or another. Its been going on since the 70's and it's going to continue. If you're naive enough to think you're team isn't paying players you need to rethink the situation.

I'm an Ole Miss fan, I know we're paying players. State is paying players. So is Alabama. So is LSU etc etc. So quit acting all high and mighty and acting like Mullen and Strickland are saints and everyone that is attending State is on the presidents list. I went to State, had a buddy that played football at State. The kids there aren't any different than kids that go to any other college. They smoke weed, they drink, they do blow, they get paid. Its all a matter of who gets caught.

^ You better hope that's not the official response for UOM. Lol. I'm no attorney, but that there is what they call "admission."

See the above interstate speeding analogy.

Do all other schools do creepy stuff like this, too? http://deadspin.com/fake-female-ole-mis ... 1691299370

Don't know if it is true or not but supposedly Ole Miss got the notice two weeks ago. NCAA did not release the story. Pay Forde was the one to break it. But two weeks ago there was people saying ole miss had already received the notification and they even said the exact numbers of allegations so I tend to think it is true.

I did not know that....

I know there are also rumors of a second letter coming strictly as to football. I doubt that as it seems the NCAA would consolidate it all into one letter. I heard that rumor from an OM friend that seems to always have the scoop though.

I do think it is pretty funny that OM fans seems to have no problem believing the allegations as to the T&F and WBB teams but adamantly deny that football is doing anything wrong. I suppose you circle the most valuable wagon though...it is human nature. :D

Yeah I have not heard anything about a second letter and I seriously doubt that is the case.
