And Verne and Gary just make it that much worse. The SEC deserves better announcers.

maybe bama should bring back shula.
would make things more appealing for everyone.

Re: Bama- SEC champs
There is a reason the NBA and NFL have the worst teams picking first in the draft... b/c parity creates competition and all that drives viewership, the junkies do appreciate the defense and all the dominance but the junkies aren't driving the big numbers.... SEC doesn't have that right now, it's not BAMA fault, but it is what it is... Kentucky basketball is same way, there is no reason to watch 95% of their games. Look at how much better college baseball has become due to parity.
Re: Bama- SEC champs
The only people who do not like to watch a team win..........are those that support losing teams.....sorry, just the way it is. Look at society, the only one's crying over people making millions are those who are not....let's have parity in all aspect of life.....now we can have socialist policies in NCAA football.
Grow up.
Grow up.

That's funny. But you might have to explain as many Bama fans these days wouldn't get it.

Re: Bama- SEC champs
it has nothing to do with Bama winning the game, how is that so hard for yall to figure out?skywalker wrote:The only people who do not like to watch a team win..........are those that support losing teams.....sorry, just the way it is. Re: Bama- SEC champs
It IS about winning the game(s) or this wouldn't be a conversation......I understand the 'style' may not be preferred and some may not enjoy it from an entertainment perspective, but posts like this just make it that much more enjoyable. There will be 'down' days at Bama, its all a cycle, so we enjoy it while we can. When a team is winning, style points matter little.....Would you pull your son from a team that won 95% of their games, multiple championships, but was boring to watch? Think not.......
Re: Bama- SEC champs
It was boring, b/c everybody knew Alabama was going to win by 3+ scores and we knew it before Florida even played Florida State. Not only did they do it, they did it vanilla because they could...which made the whole thing boring and that has NOTHING to do with the Alabama team or their winning or their ability, NONE OF THIS IS A KNOCK ON ALABAMA, pull the hounds tooth panties out of a wad....if you can't follow that, I'm sorry you just carry on defending a point that isn't even trying to be made.skywalker wrote:It IS about winning the game(s) or this wouldn't be a conversation......I understand the 'style' may not be preferred and some may not enjoy it from an entertainment perspective, but posts like this just make it that much more enjoyable. Re: Bama- SEC champs
I don't think anyone is calling for socialism in the SEC or that there should be anything done with the way things are now. All he is saying is that right now, the SEC looks pretty boring to anyone not living below the Mason-Dixon Line. All in all I think that the repetiveness of what has happened is actually going to hurt the SEC in the long run, from a recruiting standpoint as well as getting quality coaches into the league. I mean, let's face it, if the league is so good and so desirable, then would the two East schools have really hired former coordinators? No. Ten years ago coaches like Urban Meyer and Saban were knocking down the door trying to get in, not really the case these days. Right now I think the better coaches prefer the Big 10, Big 12, etc. Im not knocking Smart but if I was gonna fire the best, most proven coach in the East then I would have some better guys lined up with a more proven record. I think GA took a huge risk that may or may not pan out.
work hard, play hard
Re: Bama- SEC champs
I'm just saying, every championship game on TV last Saturday was more entertaining and far less predictable than the SEC...for a variety of reason. It won't hurt recruiting and for serious college football fans it does't matter, but perception is reality and the landscape is built upon the percpetion of things....the largest segment of football fans in this country, that drives ratings and the landscape, aren't like the guys on this website and the SEC is monotonous and boring...there are WAY more NFL fans than college football fans and their following of NCAA sports is about entertainment....it is what it is...Bama fans get all the butt hurt you want about my comment and take them however you want to take it, but fact remains, nobody outside your fanbases sees things the way you do and nobody outside the SEC umbrella sees it the way SEC fans do...ignoring that FACT makes you ignorant and the SEC brands is getting stale...Bama dominanting an undermatched East with a vanilla gameplan in championship ain't helping...hillhunter wrote:I don't think anyone is calling for socialism in the SEC or that there should be anything done with the way things are now. Re: Bama- SEC champs
Write a letter to every team in the East and tell them to step it up.
Re: Bama- SEC champs
What if Bama beats the brakes of of the teams they play in the playoffs??
