The caliber isn't as important as the shooter. 7mag will do just fine. 1000yards means the wind will be a large issue.

My gun is a 700 action with a Baretlin barrel, A5 MacMillian stock, Jewel trigger, and other parts I can't remember off the top of my head, but it shoots sub MOA with me shooting it (really saying something) to 1200 yards.

Hey I saw a news clip on NBC yesterday where they are pressuring the ATF to control the tannerite. I bet it will happen soon.

I'm all about that too, except I like to have about a foot of stainless steel with a razor edge on it for that kind of work. I need something to put in the truck to put the hurt on them anytime, anywhere.
