Got plenty of public roads round these parts that could pass for "off-road"
I intended for "public" to imply other motorists being present.
With that said, I'm shopping for some for my ride.

Like I said be reasonable and responsible. I run my on two lane roads but turn them off well before they blind on coming traffic. And they help see deer and other wildlife in the roads before I hit them and total my truck at night.

Like them on Rangers to get in out of woods but don't agree with them on street legal vehicles. Sure one or two may use them correctly but the other 8 out of ten won't.

I have a pair of 4x4in cubes mounted under my rear bumper on a toggle switch. Works well for both purposes you mentioned.

It falls in the same category as the different colored headlights. I see green and all different colors out now.......those are illegal too. The undercarriage lights that shine on the ground are also illegal. It's just a matter of the LEO deciding to pull you over or not.

Light bars on any truck you drive regularly around town are stupid.

Just last night a jeep was driving down 51 in Madison turning onto 463 had a large bar and 2 that looked half that size running, 6:30 at night! Surprised he didn't get stopped right then. Way too bright for main roads like that!

The light's will be like the drone on the white house lawn or nitrous oxide in Mississippi. Somebody will screw the pooch, then suddenly we're all illegal and enemies of the state.
Remember the guy that ran from the highway patrol and his vehicle was plumbed for nitrous oxide? Tragically, the officer crashed during the chase and died. So, now nitrous is banned for highway use and no one dies anymore during chases, problem solved.
