Well, the sad truth is fellas we are all getting old. Think about it most of us have been on here since 98 or so. We know everything there is to know about duck hunting except for what the flat billed face painters crowd can bring to the table(no thanks)

in all honesty, i've thougth about this for the last couple of years and i've come to a similar conclusion to josh (h20fowl). I think you can add in an even higher level of instant gratification that facebook and instagram offers and the down turn here was bound to happen. doesn't mean i like it, but i think there's something to it.

I'll explain the issue.
There are 3 of us that moderate that part of the forum. We have lives (sometimes). there are 2-300 new registrations per day. 99%+ of those are fake / spam / junk.
To wade through them and activate the ones we believe are good, takes time we don't have. So, we pretty much quit. If someone referred a person to me, i'd activate them. If i was in there and saw someone that looked legit, i'd activate them. Other than that, new registrations have been really nonexistent.

I have brought up trying to create a better registration process, so we'll see what happens. But it is the way it is because several years ago, we were getting all these bogus people on here trying to spam the board with junk. And it just got to be to much. So, we have kinda been on the referral method for a year or two.

I am really glad that I'm not alone in feeling the way I do about the site....It's a site, but you guys are what makes it "home". I have gotten some very good information over the years and have had some interesting conversations while learning a lot of good duck history about our state.

I thought about a facebook page the other day but I would like to keep just the good ole boys!

I hate to say it but I'm a "duck season only" kind of guy. I usually check in a month or so before season and check it everyday during season. I enjoy this board and the info I pick up here.
