Lot of scenarios to play out but yes there should be 2 west teams in the playoff. Either msu and ole miss or msu and bama etcetc. All hinges on the winners of those big games coming up. If Georgia wins sec championship then that could fudge things up for the west getting two teams in. At this point the nation sees the sec west is the best conference in the nation and should count for some big votes when playoffs are considered.
Only possible way I see to get two SEC teams in is for both State and Auburn to run the table. Also for this to happen Fl State would most likely have to have one loss! But like most everyone says to much ifs ands and buts to tell at this time.

I think Alabama or Auburn has the best shot for a 1 loss SEC team to make the final 4...I'd bet one of them will make it .....Ole Miss and State with one loss are out unless they get to the SEC championship and beat GA. JMO

Keep in mind that the talking heads like to refer to MSU and UM as the "Mississippi Schools", which I hate. Nonetheless, this season they have seemed to establish themselves above the AL schools. That being the case, in a head-to-head matchup on the playoff selection committee, I think MSU and UM collectively beat out AU and Bama collectively. Not saying it's a sure thing, but so far they have demonstrated superiority that has been noticed.

I think Alabama wins out and gets in the playoff - either by winning the SEC or by being a 3 or 4 seed as a non-conference winning team.

Alabama got beat by OM, almost lost to Arkansas, and whipped the breaks off of a dumpster fire of a program in A&M. I wouldnt call them playoff contenders just yet. These next few weeks should tell us more.

Edit- Thats not in any way to discredit OM's win. I hope they arent 56-0 good when the play MSU.

Here is one for you...

Ole Miss loses to LSU...but wins out...

Alabama beats MSU...

Ole Miss goes to ATL, but loses to Georgia (who has won out)

Alabama/Georgia in playoff....

In that situation, only GA goes to the playoff. I don't see a team who doesn't win their conference going to the playoff UNLESS another team in their division wins the conference championship. It would reward a team for not going to the conf championship game, and I don't think the playoff committee will go that route.

So in your scenario the only way Bama makes it to the playoff is if Ole Miss wins the SEC CG. Which by the way makes sense, because it will make Bama's loss look better.

Could be wrong.

Let's say states or ole miss run the table to the egg bowl. Then whoever wins goes to sec championship game and looses to Georgia. Then you may get 3 sec teams in playoff since they would all be ranked in top 4 of polls and all be 1 loss teams. Doubt it happens that way because I don't see them both not losing 1 before egg bowl. And no 2 loss team will get into playoff system I Beleive.

I hope they are just that good when they play state and I'll be there to watch the happenings.

Unfortunately I don't see any way that both Mississippi schools make it into the playoff, as a loss that late in the season will be catastrophic. I see it being Ole Miss and BAMA or State and Auburn, possibly State and BAMA.

It will be interesting to see how the mounting pressure to simply win each week will impact Ole Miss and State as the season plays out.
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.

Stop trippin'
There is absolutely no scenario out there that would put 3 SEC teams in the playoff.
Remember that the rankings do not influence the committee.

Bama made it to BCS title game in 2011 without going to ATL. I don't think OM or MSU would get a nod without a trip to ATL, but Bama could

That playoff committee is going to do everything possible to ONLY allow one SEC team into the playoff.

A one loss conference winner of the Pac 12, Big 10, and/or Big 12 is going to get in the playoffs before a one loss SEC team that didn't make it to Atlanta.

With no more BCS standings, its just going to happen this way.
