i caught a weber gold on "season end sale" at lowe's last year... a best buy for sure. ever' now and again i can turn out some good vittles from it!
i'm nigh about to turn it into a smoker and turn out some smoked lolly pops from french cut racks...smoke 'em to almost rare, take the barrel off, trim out the fat, cut every other rib out, quick dip in hoover juice, sprinkle with sure shot sid's & ground mustard, and finish over hot grill to rare-med rare...what filet "mignon" strives to be
yessir!!!!!
Experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

I swear. I can't even imagine spending more than 300 bucks for a grill. I have a charbroil gas grill with an alumnium body that's 9 years old or so. I've changed all the guts in it once for less than 150 I think. I always throw wood (chips or chunks) in there for smoke and don't have to wait on it to get right or deal with rancid lighter fluid taste.
I wish I had that budget. I'm thinking next year I may finally replace what I have. We'll see.
But, after watching Keith Richards sound exactly the same playing well over a dozen different guitars (makes/models/price ranges) I have to say it's more in the hands of the cook than the grill.

If you're tasting lighter fluid, you'd doing it wrong. I may have tasted it once or twice but it was my fault for using too much and not letting the charcoal burn long enough.
I don't use it anymore. I now use a weed burner to start my fires. The coals are usually ready to go in about 15 minutes.

I know where a gas rotisserie is that runs off gas and also has a willing hams wood pellet self feeding grill attached to it. The grill is super nice and on a trailer but it's 3200 if anyone is in market for a rotisserie

Get the charbroiled infrared grill. Not expensive and bar none the best gas grill I ever had. Will not flame up....trust me I put deer sausage and Bambi bites on and no flame ups!!! Heats up to 700 degrees in 5 min.
