Re: Saturdays games
Mossy, I agree. We seemed to always be one achievable play away from making it a game and perhaps winning it, throughout most of the game. That is why it was so frustrating to watch. We just weren't in synch. We couldn't make those achievable plays, often stumbling and bumbling the closer we got to the goal line.
The difference between winning and losing is often a very fine line. As we joked after the LSU-UM game, it's often a game of inches. And this time, the Rebs just didn't get those inches, for whatever reasons. But credit MO. They are very good on both sides of the ball, and I think, for the most part, they dominated both lines of scrimmage. And they are very well coached --- Pinkel is in his 13th year with MO. An impressive team, and their fans traveled well --- lots of MO fans at the game.
And yes, it was an extremely cold night. That frigid north wind was blowing right on my wife and I and my son (who was in town to visit) -- there was no buffer from the wind where we were sitting. But, we were bundled up and sipped on some scotch to keep warm. Had we been performing well on the field, I would have felt no cold.
The good news?: After this past weekend, the football will interfere with the ducks and deer no more. It's on like donkey kong now.
