Am envious of each of you - mine is now 18 and I certainly miss those days. Cherish each and every moment - they grow up way too quick. And post pics of what is still "Right" with this world.
And, by pics - not necessarily of the harvest...just a photo of the process of being "There."

I will be with my 5 year old daughter, she has been begging to go and try to shot something. Not concerned about taking something down. Excited she is actually wanting to do it.
She just doesnt understand why I cant shoot the gun. So alot of explaining being done

Quickest hunt I have ever been on. Got in the stand and situated at 3:30. I told my son (9 years old) to have patience because 2 crews of people have driven by our stand. Nature never follows the script; at 3:39 we have 4 does, a fawn, and a spike are in a lane next us. I told to shoot one of the medium sized does because they looked delicious. Per instructions, 2 minutes later a 100 pound doe that was 85 yards away turned sideways. He drove a 140 grain 7mm-08 through her shoulder. She hit ground and never moved. Total time in the stand 12 minutes. One of the best things was that we got her out and caused very little disturbance to the area.
I'll post a picture if I get industrious.

Man, I hope they weren't disappointed with the lack of deer sightings.Tedl10 wrote:We had seven kids come out to help with the doe's. Round 2 is next weekend.

Re: Youth hunt this weekend
My eight year old missed a doe sat morning and killed a 10 pt sat evening. Was shooting the Remington reduced loads 7mm-08. Deer grossed 142 1/2. I will try to see if I remember how to post the pic up.
