Hey, we didn't get-off on the wrong foot....I don't have a problem with anything you said. The term 'Back-up Gun' is just a foreign concept, to some.

Hell, I'm glad you came along....like you said, the forum was kinda dull.....'you wanted to get some conversation goin'....I was just doin' my part ('careful what you wish for) .

'Didn't mean any harm......it's all in fun. If you don't appreciate it, I won't respond to you, again.
Take care.....Happy Hunting!

The 'faces' is what I call 'graphic enhancement'.....it keeps the reader from getting bored, before he finally gets my point.

MPD?.......'probably a pretty accurate diagnosis! BWAAAHAHAhahaha!!!!

I have been hunting with a synthetic 3" 870 for as long as I can remember and never needed a back up, I decided to "step up" and go to a Browning auto this year and have already had problems with it. Seems as if it jams up with even the littlest bit of grim in it. So I pulled the old reliable out of the closet again, best darn boat paddle, ice breaker, robo duck pole diver, i ever bought. I am even considering trading the Browning for two 870's a 20 ga wood and a 12 ga wood. what do you think??

I've got a 20 ga 870 with a 24" barrel that I got for Christmas years ago. GREAT GUNS FOR RELIABILITY, but I hardly shoot it anymore. Never duck hunted with it. Used to hunt doves and squirrels with it when I was a youngin' but I have always felt more comfortable duck hunting with a 12 ga. I like a Franchi because in my experience it is LIGHT,totes good, and has been fairly reliable guns. No denying it, a pump is always gonna be more reliable than an auto. If your an 870 man, go for it. But if you wanted to stick with a Browning, buy an old Belgian made Auto-5,put you a barrel on it capable of shooting steel shot, and you'll have one of the finest automatic duck guns ever made! I used to be a die hard 870 man till I bought the 3 1/2(I feel they are nothing like the older guns) I have been rough on it but it has started the jamming like so many others.. I just purchased a NOVA the camo one for 361$ with a 35$ rebate like it so far

I have a super 90 and love it, but the Nova is a very bad choice. They have no feel or drop about them. I would stongly recommend the 870 mag. It is by far and away the best gun value in pumps. Its very hard to beat the reliablity and pattern out of the box on the 870. It's the only choice in a pump action gun.
