Texas vs. Vandy
T A&M vs. LSU
G Tech vs. Georgia
Miami vs. Florida
FSU vs. Arkansas
UT/EC vs. South Carolina
Tulane vs. Cal St Fullerton
LB St vs. Arizona

That's 6 SEC teams in SR's.........possibly 7.........the sleeper of the group is Vandy..........Texas better be ready for Sowers, Mullins, and Buschman.

UNC-Wilmington eliminated the Vols Sunday... it's ECU (undefeated) vs. UNC-W Monday to see who faces South Carolina in the SR.

Arkansas will host Fla. State this weekend, tix are 30 bucks for a best of 3.

Guys comparing whos better in Miss is futile, ya'll are just fighting over whos better than Vandy on most everything every year.

Arkansas had the second highest attendence of all regionals, LSU with its stadium, simply could hold more. I was one of over 8,000 last night.

Hammer states what Ole Miss has done over the past year in football, baseketball and baseball and he is being rude, for lack of better words.

Greenhead22 states what Mississippi State has done over the past decade and he is just an upstanding citizen. All of this his was stated from a guy thats location is Baptist Town, MS.

How come Rebs only want to talk about the most recent accolades when it benefits them the best........unlike the other 95% of the time talking about the past decade through the Vaught era? :roll:

Football......Ole Miss
Basketball.........MSU like always.
Baseball......even rebs choke, 0-2 in sec tourney, 0-2 in hosted regional....state didn't lose a game in the sec tourney and went 1-2 in the gt regional.....and should've been in the championship game but decided to pull an ole miss. Rebs lost their last 8-10 games of the season I believe.

Another thing.......how did ole miss split with Ark in baseball??? :lol:

You can't split a 3rd game......and I think Ark won that series if I'm correct... :lol:

just because of your name i'm going to let it slide this time. Personally, i know pompis "turd-cutter"'s (correct spelling pompous) as you call them at both schools. Most people joke and what not about the rivalry, then others appear to take it to seriously. I'm a die hard ole miss fan, got lots of friends both places, but to be classified as a pompous "turd-cutter" because i'm a fan of a school's athletics by somebody who classifies themself as ''crackhead'' is beyond me. i'm just gonna pretend you were high at the moment and let it slide :lol:

Yes the past 2 year's we've had a better football program, and historically we have. Baseball, in my opinion,we had a MUCH better program through april, now the end of the season is a different story. Historically, state's program is better, but hopefully Bianca can get our late season playing figured out by next year. State fans that bash ole miss constantly and ole miss fans that bash state fans constantly can be annoying at times. If both teams do good, it can only help both programs to get more national recognition. although the rivalry is always somethin to talk about. :lol:

I am an Ole Miss grad and I don't consider myself as falling into the stereotype that you mention above. Although I may joke w/GH22 about the Bulldogs, it's all in good fun.

I took my first trip to Destin in 1966...Were you alive then?
I've been listening to Jimmy Buffett since 1973 and saw him live for the first of 22 times in 1977 ...Were you alive then?
I saw Lowell George and Little Feat at the MS Fairgrounds in 1972 or 73 and saw them again in the Thalia Maria Hall in 1978....Were you alive then?
I saw BB King live at Fulton Chapel at Ole Miss in 1980, only 17 years after the James Meredith riots, and it changed my life...Were you alive then?
I rode down Hell Creek Trail at night on a jet black quarterhorse in 1989 while working as an elk guide near Durango, Colorado...We had been drinking a little bit and wanted to get off the mountain fast so there were sparks flying off the horses shoes as they hit the rocks on the trail...Were you alive then?

As for stereotypes, you got two basic Ole Miss fans...The wine and cheese crowd (aka the champagne and caviar set) and the beer and burgers set...I was so poor when I was at UM that I did not belong to either one! That is the reality of paying your way through school...

God has been good to me and my family since then and I now have sufficient assets to live in a nice house, drive a nice vehicle, take good care of my family, etc. and hunt a lot, but dont for a minute assume I was born with it and dont think that at least half (maybe more) of the folks in VHS on a Saturday afternoon in the fall dont have a similar story...For every rich kid I knew at Ole Miss, there were 4 or 5 just barely getting by...Most of them have done well since because they got a good education and worked their arses off....

UM has a proud history in college football...MSU is nowhere close to that history...That's not bragging- that's just the way it is...Whehter you want to talk about last year or the last 40 years, UM comes out way ahead of MSU in football...Simple as that...

GH22 starting talking a bunch of smack about UM not making Omaha but he went on the offense without having any defense since this was a year when Ole Miss took the Bullies to the woodshed in both football and baseball...As for calling me a peepee, you can call me whatever you want but you are saying a lot more about yourself than you are me. Think about it.

According to the record book, going back to 1950-2003, Ole Miss made it to Omaha/College World Series in 1956 and lost out of the tournament in third place. That was the highest any SEC team had gotten in the CWS until Auburn made it in 1967 to bow out in the third place. Alabama finally broke the record to second place in 1983. From 1933-2003 Miss. State has made it to the NCAA Tournament 23 times with a W/L record of 59/39 .602 winning percentage. Ole Miss has made it to the NCAA Tournament 8 times with a W/L record of 23/18 .561 winning percentage. According to the SEC records one shows Miss. State making it to third place in 1985, while another shows them only making it to fourth place in 1985. So, although Ole Miss. has had fewer appearances, Miss. State has yet to achieve a higher level then Ole Miss., but has almost tripled the number of appearances. As for the College World Series record, Miss. State has made 7 appearances with a W/L of 7/14 and a .333 winning percentage while Ole Miss has made 4 appearances with a W/L of 3/8 and a .273 winning percentage.
