Take her on a public hunt during the week with just the 2 of you. Dont worry about getting there early to get the "best hole". Take your time explaining why you are doing what you are doing as far as the setup, etc. goes, and let her help put out decoys and participate. I wouldnt even worry about uncasing my gun once shooting time rolled around. I'd just call and work the dog and make the hunt revolve around her. Once she gets hooked, you can start treating her like "one of the guys"...
Getting new people involved in the sport is what it's all about! My wife loves to duck hunt, but since we had a baby it has kind of shut her down. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
A place to take the wife on a first duck hunt??

She's not gonna back down from a little work during a hunt. If you want to do a fun wood duck hunt to start her off, just come go with us on my parents place. Thats prolly where I'm gonna take my wife on her first hunt. Its fun to stand in the hay field with the creek at your back and the ducks dropping in on you.
