I have had the Summit OpenShot for 5 years and only had to replace cables once. I carry it to every hunt and its the best biting lite climber IMO and I have used a bunch. You have to get used to no back rail at first, but once you climb a bit its no big deal.

I love everything about the Treewalker once you get it in the tree. I have been a little dissapointed in the noise that it makes when taking it apart and putting back together and also the cables are noisy when you climb due to them being hard plastic against aluminum. Once you get set they are nice and comfortable and they will not slip!!

I have a loggy bayou I have had forever. By far the lightest and most comfortable climber I have ever hunted out of. I learned to hug the tree and forget the hand climber part and I can climb little trees or huge trees. I keep waiting for something to break since parts are long gone.

Today I bought a Ol Man Multivision. It's not too heavy and it is real sturdy and comfortable.

Went with the Summit openshot with the flipup seat. Will give an honest review soon.

That happened 8 or 10 years ago, i dont remember the exact details other than it scared the chit out of me. I literally sold it the next day. Best i remember i was just sitting there and bam i slid 4 feet in about 2 seconds. I didnt have the cinch strap. May not have happened with it in place but you dont need a cinch strap with the other brands.

Just bought the Summit Viper Elite SD. 16lbs and very stable.

I was looking at that one as well as the specialist. Only reason I went with the openshot is for the 300lb capacity. I'm no small fry.

Was going to buy one of these yesterday and Dicks had the non SD model on sale for $139. Figured for the difference I could carry another 5 lbs and not drop anything on it.

Ok so I've found out I don't like climbing up a tree with nothing between me and the ground but air. This openshot will be posted in the classifieds soon. Just think I'd like the viper better so if anyone is interested. Pros...definently lightweight and easy to pack in and setup. Even pretty comfortable once you get up there and can shoot sitting down.

Some of the folks in my camp have started using Molle 2 straps with waist belt off of Ebay and replacing the seat with a hazmore replacement seat. The straps really help with carrying it and the seat make it like an Ole Man so you get the best of all worlds. The are doing this with Goliath stands and it really helps.
