Got some news for ya. Depending on what hp and year model it could be the same motor! Susuki builds four strokes for evinrude mec and yamaha. Yamaha builds some models for Merc. Honda builds some models for all of em. Merc builds one or two models for Honda. Honda uses a lot of Merc Lower Units. Yamaha uses a lot of old OMC lower units. Merc, Yamaha, and Evinrude all have certian models that are exclusive to themselves. There's just know telling who builds what powerhead for who anymore. They all in bed together on one engine or another. Now the rest of the motor is a different story. Most each of em have their own L/U but some of them do intigrate, such as Honda and Yamaha.

Yeah, you would if you owned one. The reliability (even in freezing temps), quietness, smoothness are worlds apart. The gas savings alone make it worth the extra money.
you did put in the plug, right?

Yeah you don't work on them either. If you knew what I see everyday you would run back to a 2 stroke.

Yamahammer is the way to go.

we got a 2-stroke, going on 12 years and it cranks every-single time you hit the key.

i had a mercury 115 before and it was hard to crank.

I had a 2007 merc 115 4 stroke and made more oil than opec. They never got the problem solved. Gas getting past rings, that motor was always a quart high or more when youy checked the oil.

Theres a Tohatsu dealer right near F&F. Maybe in Mcgee. Ive heard Counce in Memphis is pretty competitive with yamahas. Suzuki dealer is in West Memphis. You could prolly get best price down in LA.

HAHAHA Thats right!!! Thats why their called welfare motors!!!! I wouldn't run one of those junk motors if it was given to me!! Just go look at what the crabbers and commercial fishermen on the coast run. 99.9% of the time its either a Honda or Yamaha.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Mercury, Yamaha, or Honda. That being said they are having some problems on the SHO, at least some of the guys I fish tournaments with are.
