Diamond Naturals and lots of other brands just had a huge recall here some of the list:

May 18, 2012 — Diamond Pet Foods has announced yet another voluntary dog food recall involving one more of its products due to possible contamination with Salmonella bacteria.

The event was reported by the company in a news release dated May 18, 2012 and was confirmed by the FDA in a news release dated May 18, 2012.
The recall includes Diamond Naturals Small Breed Adult Dog Lamb and Rice Formula samples, 6 pound and 18 pound bags manufactured on Aug. 26, 2011.
Salmonella infections can affect both humans and non-human animals and are the result of ingesting contaminated food.

I took mine off Diamond Naturals Last month just in case, I sure don't want to get sick. So far over a dozen people have gotten samonella poisoning from handling the food. I'd rather be safe than sorry. You can google dog food recall and get other brands it's getting bigger.

I was also feeding the Diamond Naturals and had great results. However, since the recall I have moved on and will probably not go back to Diamond. I had a bag of Lamb & Rice that was affected so I threw it out. I had fed almost the whole thing already but wasn't taking any chances. Tractor Supply had already taken the L&R off the shelves so I got the large breed formula. I got it home and a day later it was added to the recall so I took it back to TS & got Nutro Max. My dog appears to be allergic to corn so I have to really be careful what I feed him or the incessant licking of the paws will drive you nuts. He seems to be doing ok on the Nutro but it does still have wheat in it and he licks his paws occasionally but not obsessively. I'll keep looking for something better. I just can't afford Blue Buffalo and Taste of the Wild was included in the recall. It's hard to find corn & wheat free foods it seems. All the Eukanuba and Pro Plan I've been able to find has corn in it.

I'm feeding Black Gold Signature to my girl who is allergic to grains. My friend in Yazoo City orders it by a pallet for his dogs, I buy from him And it does a good job. Too hard to find otherwise. Far as I know they have not had a recall. I'm getting kinda tired of those, and having to switch. I was feeding Taste of Wild puppy to my pups, made by Diamond it was recalled too. About 10 yrs ago Diamond had a recall, lots of dogs died. I'm pretty much done with them. And the TOW was such a good food ingredient wise.
