So you wanna compare fresh legs to a defense that had been on the field most the night. Put a fresh Defensive line in he does not do anymore then he did the first 3 quarters.mfalkner wrote:Bama showed a lot of grit and poise, playing their guts out in the 4th with fans bailing out. Two good teams slug it out, Rebs ended up on top. Heckuva game, doubt either coach wants a rematch any time soon.
I think if Henry had had fresh legs in the 4th quarter, the Rebs would have been in trouble.
Nope, not comparing that at all. Just trying to tip a hat to what I saw as a gutsy performance by a losing team trying to pull it out. Would have been easy to quit when the fan base bailed out, but they didn't. Obviously our defense was totally out of gas as well.yourmanwm75 wrote:So you wanna compare fresh legs to a defense that had been on the field most the night. You are spot on with this statement. NCAA is a joke.NUTMEG wrote:The NCAA has lost all credibility and the Tunsil situation shows it!! The NCAA discovered both Tunsil and C.J. Hampton kept Cannon motor loaner cars longer than they should have. C.J. had his for less time than Tunsli thus the 2 games and Tunsil will get 4 games. We all claim sources close to the program and I cant say this is 100% but I was told about these things before the first game and everything I was told has proven 100% accurate. Also was told the problem at Ole Miss is we don't have a Chancellor to stand up to this and there are no current Ole Miss guys on the compliance group at the school and one is trying hard to get a job with the NCAA.
My issue is the NCAA would have more credibility coming out with the info and laying down the punishment. They are letting schools decide their own punishment and then (as with Scam Newton) if the school does nothing, no punishment is announced. I predict Tunsil plays after the fourth game and the NCAA never discloses anything about the situation.
Yep, when Bama lost to Ole Miss last year everybody said they were done and Malzhan and Freeze had passed him by but who made it to the playoff. Same thing after Ohio State game everybody says Bama is done and Sabans defense can't hold up. Well overall I thought the defense did a heck of a job with the situations they were put in. Bama is young and inexperienced on offense and it shows. I am guessing they will be better by the end of the year but pretty sure they will lose one more game. Ole Miss will be in the same boat next year when the NFL rapes their under classmen. It's just like LSU you can't lose that many players to the NFL and not have some rebuilding to do and hit some bumps in the road.NUTMEG wrote:One other thing - Bama is 84-11 in the last 7 seasons before this year. People are saying they are on a downward trend after losing one game. Well hell, with that record over 7 years it is hard to go up!!! I sure hope in 2020 Bama beats Ole Miss 2 years in a row and we have had the above record and National Championships Bama has won during this time. I will laugh and say yep we are on the way down.

The true test of Freeze and sustainability will be next season. LSU, Bama and Florida have had to deal with losing junior and redshirt sophs to the draft more than any other schools in the last 10 years. LSU appears to finally be digging out of the hole. Bama was able to maintain and Florida was gutted.mshunter77 wrote:Yep, when Bama lost to Ole Miss last year everybody said they were done and Malzhan and Freeze had passed him by but who made it to the playoff. OM stands to lose at least four, maybe more, of their best players this year to the draft early. Heck, if Kelly keeps it up, since this is a weak QB class, I could see him leaving early too.
One thing that is apparent, Freeze is still recruiting well though.
