You would think that the Secretary of State, being an attorney as well, would know the law.teul2 wrote:Found this apropos today.http://www.ms-sportsman.com/details.php?id=120“The Ryals court (Ryals v. Re: WHAT A CROCK
So true and sad. I think i'm going to put posted signs on buoys out to the center of the river where I own a little land. Call the game wardens every time a boat comes and fishes my bank. TRESSPASSERS!!! What a load of crap Yes I know thats not how the law works and so does everyone else. But game wardens will write you a ticket in a heartbeat and say well take it to court "we have to side with land owner" Ive heard it three times been given tickets times and beat the ticket three times in the same area. I wouldn't be surprised if i got a ticket again this year.cajun squealer wrote:Don Miller wrote:

Re: WHAT A CROCK
i hunted it a couple times and figured out it wasn't worth the hassle. Not much good hunting and all the locals try to tell you it's posted by those signs that are for a hunting club that doesn't exist. I knew the law and what the GW had told me so i didn't pay them much attention. But it's only a small time most seasons that many ducks are even there. It wasn't worth the time and effort to me had better places to hunt. I'm excited about the weir being put in. I'd love to use my outboard up there like when i was a kid.

Re: WHAT A CROCK
Ok also I'm staying open minded here. Everyone is saying that Delbert Hosemann has land joining the refuge? Correct? How many of you guys ever hunted next to a refuge and had much luck? I would think it would kill his hunting grounds. I would think within 3 shots fired on the private land ducks would just go to the refuge that has no pressure. I'm just asking you don't think it would make his hunting spot terrible? I think a small refuge would benefit that area personally. The ducks at the local Wma there have no where to rest. Between it and the hunting clubs around the WMA. I'm a member of LCHFA I think it will all benefit hunting in the area. I'm sure I'll get told I'm wrong but if i am explain how please.

Re: WHAT A CROCK
Best defense is to take a picture of your GPS cords with officers in background or ask if you can lay theirs and yours side by side to take a picture. Also, one club that claims a lot of land that floods doesnt pay taxes on near as much as they claim they own. Screw em. Carry a chainsaw and trap them up in the chute one morning.

Re: WHAT A CROCK
Well delta...a few years back I got kicked off the MDWFP board when they had it up for calling out a "place" for that exact reason you just stated. They will tell you they own the land and you can't be there, and they cut timber off it when the river is out of it, but they don't pay taxes on it because it is claimed to be owned by the state of LA. Never had a problem with GW's writting tickets at thsi place, it was the East Carrol Parish Deputies doing the ticket writting and the crooked judge was just convicting everybody of trespassing.
I went to the Madison Parish tax assesor /collector and asked how much lad this place claims and pays taxes on.....they said they didn't know and just asked them how much they owned. there were a few pages from the deed book mysteriously missing as well

You can purchase about two years' worth of Landglide for what a trespassing ticket costs.
Don't get real picky on being right on the line on the map. Some of those property lines are off a little bit, by 50-100 feet or so on the ones that I know where the survey stakes are.

I know all too well about it. It was the fat one I always had run ins with. I think he got caught doing something he shouldn't and is no longer there. That said, he didn't write a ticket when I asked him that.
