Everyone always wants to throw this argument out there like Phil would put someone up there that wouldn't be good for the state. I've heard folks on here say Greg Harper. Is that a bad thing? I know I just voted for him in his latest reelection bid. Is everyone pissed off at Roger Wicker too? Seems like a pretty good appointment by the last Gov to me. Y'all acting like Greg Harper is a communist or something.

I have always supported Harper....but I am not sure that he isn't liking playing the game "the Washington game" a little more than I like. His running interference for Cochran makes me question my ability to support him in the future. If he was the man for the job...then he should have ran for the seat and allow me "the voter" to cast a vote for my senator.

I think the people are tired of the same old Washington/MS BS politics. I guess we will see tomorrow.

The old guy in the grocery store nailed it. How can McDaniel accomplish any of his outlandish claims when he is already guaranteed he won't work with anyone but the other 6 tea party crew? It won't happen. I feel Thad is the better of the two weak choices, even knowing Phil will be putting some one in that seat.

At least the damn phone calls will stop tomorrow.

I also forgot about the the end of Cotton bases as well...And as far as those leases goes....Im so poor I havent been able to afford a lease in years anyway

They cut bases but raised other incentives I have not heard to much out of the farmers about this. What's y'all thoughts on this. I lost a old base check on some crp but I don't think I really deserved it.

I understand that the handouts are what are propping this state up. I know we as a nation need to cut the handouts in all aspects from the Delta Farmer, the Coast Commercial Fisherman(note I didn’t say recreational) to the woman at the Ruleville BP station and all porches in-between, BUT I don’t think Mississippi needs to lead the charge. In the same token, if we don’t, who will. I don’t think there is a person on the board that doesn’t think the whole lot of career politicians are the demise of this country. The people we have in office in DC, including Cochran haven’t so much as hardly raised an eyebrow on the actions of our president, much less raised holy heck to more light to the issue. These same politicians are the same ones who aren’t raising the BS card on the IRS mysterious email vanishings and calling for someone’s head. It’s like our vote, or our people we vote for could give two f^cks as to what we as a nation think on real issues as long as the money train doesn’t stop. I’m not a big tea party fan and think there are some wackos in their ranks, but something has got to give. It’s the accountability issues and the establishment types that make me not want to vote for Thad. Why not let him speak, why not let whoever is going to replace him if and when he steps down. It’s all a game and a plan who rake millions off the top of the government(read Haley’s family members) before we the common people even see a portion of it. I don’t really want to vote for McDaniel, but not sure I like Thad either. Sure Thad has done some good for the state, no doubt, but at what cost? He’s not going to be the Head of Appropriations, as his worshipers are banking on, forever...may not for very long....then what? This is really the closest lesser of two evils race our state has had in a long while. I’ll come right out and say that I voted for Thad the first go round. After all this with the MSGOP practically handing money out in the hood and delta, buying the "democrats" votes to put him back in office, I’m thoroughly disgusted with the GOP, Haley, Thad(if he knows what’s going on), and the whole lot of establishment GOP career politicians. No one praising his good fortune to the state of MS brings these points up. Sure MS doesn’t need to be the first to create a stir in the Senate, but we sure as he!! Ain’t getting anywhere waiting on the other 50 states to elect someone with some accountability. Everything in politics is a pendulum. We've swung so far left, that at some point we are going to have to overcorrect to get us back where we need to be. Is it McDaniel, who knows, but what’s happening now sure isn’t working.

Be sure to go out an vote for McDaniel tomorrow. Or the other option just vote to keep Ms at the bottom of the pole as usual. I'll take my chances with
the wildcard because the guy that's there now has done nothing but help keep us where we are today. Dead last.

While there may be somewhat of a connection there, there is no denying the direct deposit from Michael Bloomeberg to Thad Cochran's campaign. $250,000 in one fell swoop. You can bet your sweet @$$ there will be a price for that $250k....I'd say help Bloomberg get a gun control foothold in the historically firearm friendly south? Will or can anytone think of any other possibility why he did that? Anyone care to dispute it? Or should it just be ignored like everything else these days?

These questions are for the McDaniel supporters. Leave Cochran out of your answer, this is about McDaniel. I still don't know who I am voting for so make your best pitch for McDaniel.

What exactly do you expect him to do to cut spending? How is he (one man) gonna cut federal spending? Be specific.

If he had his way and we did not get the money from the fed government that makes up 45% of our state budget what does he propose the state does to make up that shortfall? Be specific.

What exactly do you expect him to do to help the education system in Mississippi? Remember if he had his way the funding for education would be cut. What is his plan for education? Be specific.

What exactly do you expect him to do to help the struggling economy in Mississippi? Be specific.

Remember you say that Cochran is responsible for the problems in Mississippi so how will McDaniel fix it?

I want to hear that from both sides as well. I havent heard McDaniels plan and thats my hang up on him. On Thaddeous, I havent heard anything more than look at wht Ive done in 50 years. I personally dont feel good about either.

I'm with you deltadukman, I don't want to vote for either one of them. I just think the McDaniel supporters are gonna be disappointed when McDaniel gets up there and nothing changes. Palazzo beat Taylor running this same type campaign. Playing on people's emotions and making a bunch of promises. What has Palazzo accomplished?

Either way I will support the winner.
