ESPN jab at "Poor MSU fans"
What was up with Mike Patrick re qouting Cohen saying MSU fans couldnt afford to come to game or something? Looks like about 30,000 showed up.Furthermore my state buddy's have been there for 6 days. lt appears UCLA fans are low on cash. What 500 fans? Or was it a jab at people of Mississippi? Did he misqoute Cohen? I will mute tonight.. Good luck Dawgs. BITE!

Re: ESPN jab at "Poor MSU fans"
I saw an article earlier.... ESPN announcer Mike Patrick.
He supposedly quoted Cohen when he said..."The coaches told us this morning a lot of people came here from MS... that can't afford the trip, but they came here to support the kids"
I honestly don't thing he meant anything by it really. He was just quoting Cohen. Didn't sound offensive to me or at least I don't take offense to it.

i made mention about how the announcers were talking down on us when someone in maroon caught a foul ball and they said something to the effect that "well, at least they're taking home a souvenir". in their eyes our po aces have already lost the game, too.
Experience is a freakin' awesome teacher...
Re: ESPN jab at "Poor MSU fans"
I was at a watch party last night and when he said it the whole room went off. He may have meant no harm but it came out like these po booty mississippi folks can't afford to be here but they're here anyway. If it was a slip up or a misquote then a simple i'm sorry or a quick written statement should suffice to calm people down. If it was with any malice or bias which it probably was not then he needs to be reprimanded for that one. It just didnt come out well on tv last night.

Mike Patrick needs a punch to the throat.
He was trying to quote Cohen on what had been said in a a prior interview. Only problem was Patrick didn't repeat it in the same form and was taken the wrong way.

Saw some pictures on twitter earlier. Couple of folks have made signs aimed at Mr. Patrick. One said "Hey Mike, I sold my trailer to come."
Hopefully they'll show a few on tv but I doubt it.

Also for the record there weren't even 500 ucla fans in game one. Maybe 200....maybe. there were a lot more in game two cause a lot of locals had "picked a team" and bought shirts just before the game.
