Our ship is in a shipyard in Mobile just south of the I-10 tunnel. Sat. morning the traffic started backing up going east at 9:45 and got worse and did not let up all afternoon! Was the same last weekend too! Had a front row seat to the sideshow.

Came through on the causeway Saturday at noon. Sucked. This is the most crowded I've ever seen the beach.

That being said, I would much rather be parked on the beach next to some State or Ole Miss fans than a bunch of Updykes! Keep spending that MS money on the coast, I know the business owners sure appreciate it.

It was on the national news the other night that Alabama has 80--yes 80--failing school districts in their state. You know the old saying....those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
There is nothing wrong with education in Mississippi. Take the delta out of the equation and Mississippi would be one of the best in the nation.

That would be 80 failing schools not districts. This whole thing is about people being able to send there kids to a different school. Birmingham has 49 city schools. So 80 is not a surprise.

That probably happens every Saturday in June, July and August. Backs up both east and west. Last year when we were coming home the west bound lanes were backed up over two miles before the bay bridge. Folks from Mississippi have invaded the Gulf Coast from Gulf Shores to Panama City for the past 40 years. The increase in numbers is a result of an increase of vacationers from states like Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and Missouri.
