You know the day will come when you have to say 'good-bye' and you try to prepare for it, but damnit it is still difficult. The wife found him running down the median on Hwy 78 in morning rush hour traffic. We tried to find his owner, but to no avail. that was 12 years ago. Biggest feet on a dog that I have ever seen. 115lbs of solid muscle. Hard headed, always horny, very protective of my family. Gentle, unless other dogs were around and then he had to prove he was the alpha male. Loved to hunt. Couldnt keep him out of the back of the Tahoe. Thought he was a lap dog. Typical traits of a lab. We named him Blitz from my son's football at the time. Hard to let one like him go. thanks for the years of fun, big guy. It was a pleasure...

Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.
