i just hope he can keep moving us in the right direction after this past season's momentum.

i don't think he can do it, but who else can we get?

While I don't mind rewarding him for a very good season, I don't like the idea of locking him into a significantly larger salary. I would have preferred that any new contract extension keep his base salary where it was ( already in top 30 nationally) and include performance based incentives which would allow him to get paid more if he makes it to NCAA tourney, for each win in the tourney, wins an SEC title, etc. Further, I think any new contract extension should have included a more favorable buyout for Ole Miss.

Unless there was some other team interested in hiring him, I just don't understand the necessity of sweetening the pot for AK when he finally had one season ( in 8 years) where he actually earned and was worth what we were paying him.

he was already making 1.3 a year, i think it was. and now he's making 1.7. again, i think ak is the best we can get at this time. so do what you gotta do to keep him. I'm not sure of how the buyout is structured but it's different this go round.
