You don't need anything special I started out with a Parker hunter mag which was something like a ladies bow then I went to the Hydro Strike witch is a bowfishing bow I liked it but the limbs where not good on them ole bows. After it I bought a Browning Baracutta which it was a good bow but I went on ahead an got my heart right and spent the money on a Oneida Black Eagle and man that baby is one sweet shooting bowfishing rig. I got her down to 19 pounds and she pops hard!

Yea just start out with any old compound or recurve. Ought to be able to find one cheap on craigslist.

I been shooting an ams for 4 years now and its still slayin em
Re: BOWFISHING ADVICE
You can use any bow you like. I started with some old $20 dollar recurves from Pawn shops. The big thing is getting down to 45lbs or less. With anything higher poundage you are driving your arrow into the mud a long ways. Just get you bow and a reel set up and give it a shot. I promise you will love it.
