My old college room mate is stationed in Del Rio. He has been border patrol for about 15 years. He is some kind of supervisior now, so things are not too bad for him. Pay and benefits are good; politics suck; shift work is crappy. I talked to him last week about some 30 rd mags and stuff and he was saying that Homeland security is broke. It used to be a whole lot better before Border patrol got moved under Homeland Security.
