Has anyone been seeing or killing any ducks in the Greenwood area (Slaughter or the Scatters) trying to decide if it is worth coming over to my camp this long weekend. Also, have any of you boys heard anything in the weather forcast about the white stuff on Monday? Can't afford to get snowed in for New Years good for the ducks and bad for the wife, everyone knows if mama ain't happy nobody's happy! Any info greatly apprec.

It's about as bad as I can remember. Not enough cold weather and way too much water. My son and I limited out Christmas Day (8 mallards and one other duck). We tried a different approach. Got in our mummy boats, put out six decoys and didn't call. Prior to this we'd not fired a shot. The few ducks we have in the Greenwood/Morgan City area are really skiddish and, I believe, are the few ducks that are here year round. Not many new ducks at all... But it was still a great hunt and may have salvaged our season...
