IP Address Question - need help fast! UPDATE

The laptop has a camera on it - the computer has that remote log-in on it and the computer guy said he thought he could log in and turn the camera on....not gonna do it but it would be funny as hell to see that....

We had a computer stolen from work once that had a remote login setup on it. Remotes into the machine and ole thug was surfing Facebook. Watched him for a while, got their name, and then locked him out and got the ip.
Security guy and cops went to his house and arrested them and got it back. It was pretty funny.

Still waiting on AT&T to help out....little buddy was on the computer last night at 7.....

Did the thug not notice when yall logged in? That's what my dad is worried about if they did that....

Dude is probably too dumb to realize that someone else is logged on watching his every move. Log on and just move the mouse a little every few seconds. He'll think something is wrong with it. Maybe throw in a right-click every minute or so just for good measure. What kind of remote access software does he use? If the right kind we could have some fun at that thug's expense with some batch files. Write one to run every few minutes that opens the FBI and CIA websites for him or opens a pic of Obama we caption with "Someone is watching you!!!"

Are you kidding me? AT&T has no reason to. He is using their service, as long as he's paying the bill they wont care who's computer its on. If he gets arrested all they have is a bill that hasnt been and wont be paid.

Apparently the cops have to request confirmation from AT&T that the address they think it is from the IP, is actually the right house address so they can then get a warrant for that address....since the IP isn't 100% accurate they have to get AT&T to confirm it...at least that's how I understood it.
It pisses me off but right now all we can do is wait while De'Tyrone fills that laptop with every virus known to man.

Damn thing will probably have rims on it by the time the cops get the warrant.
