Or, we could go with the Mississippi University Catfish, with a giant catfish as our on field mascot. Colors would be blue, gray and white. Perhaps some black in there on occasion. Hire Champcaller to design us a call that imitates the grunting sound of a catfish for the fans to use during games.

The vision is taking shape.

You sound completely soft.
To be honest the best thing that could happen to us was a crappy year toward the end. Maybe now we can get out heads outta the clouds and play ball.

Smells like a moral victory. The whole "8-0 - We Believe" thing was just a big scam.
Also as a Mississippi man, I know State will get rocked against Bama but to Webb master and the rest of the rawl tide sister lovers, I really hope Ole Miss takes Saban to the wood shed.
Your inferiority complex and hatred of Alabama now has you cheering for your rival school. I'd like to remind you of a few things. First, Ole Miss and taking someone to the wood shed only happens the other way around. Second, in reference to "sister lovers": YOU LIVE IN MISSISSIPPI.
Don't let the great recruits today make you think this is the reason for my beleif.
I am not. I was thinking more along the lines of crack cocaine, alcohol or you got in the head one too many times with a cowbell.
The rebels played Bama closer than anyone with half the Hp.
You've now ventured into unchartered waters: A MSU fan is proclaiming a moral victory for its "rival" state school. Judging from all the references to that particular game, it sounds like Alabama should let Ole Miss borrow the SEC and BCS trophy for one day a week.
Now they hitting on all 8 suckas.
They are not doing anything. Its February.
And for the oppertunity to see Bama go down to a MS team...... Heck Ill say a little Hotty Toddy!
This opportunity happens twice a year. Every year. But it never really pans out.
Don't they have a Alducks? I really don't get into the hype of hating the other school. Run along and kiss ya cousin or sister. Whatever strums ya banjo.

I would be all in for this as well. It would be worth it to bring greatness to the state.

Name:
THE Mississippi University (The Spurs)

Colors:
Navy blue, Maroon, and white

Mascot: A pissed off Wild Turkey

Traditions:
Rebel flags, Dixie, cowbells, Wild Turkey (drink not the bird)

Central Location: To get it away from unfavorable demographics (Canton too close to Jackson) and its proximity to Memphis recruiting, put it in Tupelo. As bad as I hate to say it as a State fan, Oxford would be a good spot.

Satellite Campuses:
Oxford, Starkville, Hattisburg, Vicksburg

I really wouldn't care how they set it up, as long as they did it I think it would be awesome. I will buy season tickets the moment they decided to do it.

This same topic came up a few years ago on MSDucks. I'd be all for it. We have too many schools for a state like Mississippi. I seem to remember several years ago someone mentioning to me that some computer gurus got together and built a program to crunch some numbers. They took the best from the big 3 for the past 10 years to see what sort of team Mississippi would have with just one major university. The computer spit out that the team would have won the national championship 8 of the past 10 years and been in the hunt the other two. I can believe it.

Those who can do. Those who can't get on MSDUCKS and try to convince everyone they can.

This is an idea Ive been thinking about for a while. It would be really easy to combine the best of each university. The plan would be easy to implement.

1. We use OM football team.
2. We use MSU cheerleaders.
3. We use USM busses.

Worst idea I've ever heard...each university has its own unique part in our state. As an Ole Miss supporter, I'd rather live through the ups and downs and enjoy the rivalries and be a Rebel for the rest of my life than try to be something else. I'm a fan because I love Ole Miss, win or lose I'd rather be a Rebel.

I would expect State fans to feel same about being a bulldog or USM fans being a mustard buzzard

In summary I'm a Rebel...I'm a Rebel...I'm a Rebel through and through; I would rather be a Rebel than a coona$$ from LSU.

That would just give Bama 1 win each year, not the 2 we are accustomed to.

Funniest thing I've read in a while. This made my morning.

How about eagle-shaped cowbells that ring Dixie...
