Re: Do we dare
The big man for UK (Noels?) had a lot to do with how bad Ole Miss looked. He pretty much neutralized our two big men (Holloway and Buckner) when he was in the game.
Ole Miss made a big run on the cats late in the second half, pulling to within a point, mostly while the UK big man was sitting on the pine with 4 fouls. Once Noels was back in the game, he picked up where he left off. Personally, I thought that he should have fouled out on several occasions before UK had an opportunity to rebuild their lead ---eg he mugged Holloway on an attempted dunk, and pushed Jones down from behind (which btw, resulted in a season ending injury to Jones). Once it became clear that the refs were not going to call that 5th foul on him, Noels got bolder and bolder. And that was that. He was the difference in the game (along with the big white boy from UK who filled up the basket).
Only White shot well from the floor. Henderson had a "bad night" shooting the ball from the floor, and still scored 21 points, mainly from free throws (along with getting some rebounds, steals, drawing fouls, and feeding his teammates the ball for easy shots). We needed our normal contributions from Holloway and Buckner --- but as stated above, they were effectively taken out of the game offensively by the UK big man.
UK has more "talent" than any of the SEC schools. But, much of that talent is very young and inexperienced at the college level. As I indicated in another thread, I look for UK to continue to get better and better as the season goes.
The Rebs got off to a great start this season, but will no doubt have some bumps in the road. The UK loss was one of them. The upcoming game with Florida will likely be the next bump. It will be interesting to see how the Rebels rebound from some adversity --- losing a game or two --- Henderson in a shooting slump(for him) --- bad PR re Henderson ---- injuries to Jones and Nick Williams, etc. If the Rebels can pull together and overcome these obstacles, they still have a great chance to reach the NCAA tournament.

You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.

Yea UK's big man was the differance.I don't understand why they did'nt feed the paint more when they got 4 on him fake him up and get # 5.I guesse I'm too old school cause that's how we use to play get a big man in foul trouble and go after him,we may have got beat by 20 but it would'nt have been cause he was on the floor.
Re: Do we dare
