Re: Do we dare
Love it. Those Auburn douchebag rubes were on Marshall the whole game. And then at the end, he sticks the dagger in them and reminds them that they are the Rebels and his biaaatches. The reactions of the rubes are hilarious.
Very entertaining stuff. The SEC may be "down", but we ain't out.

I'd say the same thing if he wore maroon. Just shut up and play.ScottyLee wrote:if he wasn't on our team, i'd freakin hate him too... he sucks at life-basketball

Re: Do we dare
I think Marshall is hilarious, and very entertaining to watch.
He not only can score in bunches, but he does everything else well ---- he rebounds well, steals the ball, hustles to get loose balls, passes the ball well to his teamates for assists, etc. Even when he doesn't have the ball, he opens things up for the other players by serving as a decoy, making all his teammates better. He is like Keith Carter, only with more "attitude".
His teammates feed off of his energy and love him (this fact alone tells me all I need to know about his character). Marshall always has his teammates' back, and is always the first over to a fallen teammate to help them up, or giving encouragement to a teammate who has made a mistake. And the Rebel fans feed off of his energy as well, getting loud and making things difficult for opposing teams in Tad Smith.
Almost without exception, Marshall's antics are directed toward our own fans to fire them up. That was true at Vandy when the gestures he was making were to the Rebel fans under the goal by our bench (the goofball tv announcers never figured that out, despite the sea of red and blue in that area). The one exception so far was his reaction to the Auburn fans at the end of the game, after he had been unmercifully heckled the entire game. (And BTW, that type of opposing fan reaction is what he wants ---he feeds off of it and enjoys it like a pig in slop). And the gesture he made was not a crude finger gesture, cussing, or anything of the sort ---instead he just held up the "Rebels" emblem on his jersey to remind them of who just beat them --- he was just having fun. The responses of the Auburn rubes were priceless.
In his interviews, he is always polite, gives credit to his teammates, and is gracious to opposing teams and coaches when asked about them --- yet, always very confident.
All of our home SEC games have been sold out, and likely will be for the rest of the season. I credit Marshall for pumping this new life into the program.
I am very glad that he is a Rebel and on our team. I am enjoying watching Rebel basketball again.
The fact that fans of opposing teams hate him and think he is a "douchebag" is great. If he wasn't good, they wouldn't care at all. And he feeds off of their hate, making him even better and more intense. And that is the great irony of it all.

I hope he acts the absolute hood-rat democratic fool to John Calipari tonight...nobody deserves it more...other than that I wish he'd tone it down a notch...

Re: Do we dare
I don't know much about basketball, but Ole Miss looked like a bunch of dudes playing pick-up basketball...just whoever got the ball at top of the key run around and throw it up. Kentucky looked like a basketball team that actually had a purpose and reason for how they played. Hard to watch that mess...I'm not a big follower, but if we are winning by playing like that then college basketball is poor overall...
