Not sure about Meridian, but in Jackson they only take the oriiginal applications on Wednesday. If this is for the Enhanced sticker its any day of the week.

Are you legal once you pay the fee and get processed, or do you become legal when the card comes in the mail?

Once you get the card, but be careful and look at the card first. Mine had an issue date 3 days after I recieved it. Got it on a monday and it wasnt good until that next thursday so I guess you could say it was post dated.

From what i understand you arent legal until the card comes in the mail. If you we're checked, you would have no way of showing them you were legal anyway.

To tell you the truth guys (and you prolly already know this If you've done the process) the bureaucracy and the waiting is way worse than the fee.

That is the issue I have. I would like to go and get my CCW permit, but I just can't sacrifice a productive work day to sit at the HP station all day waiting for them to do what they need to do.

From what I have seen the wait time in jackson is so long, you could drive to batesville on Monday morning, get it done, and drive back in less time thatn it took to stand in line in jackson.

Anyone had to do an address change on theirs? I mailed off the letter like 3 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything or received anything back int he mail.

I've been thinking about that......

I did and never heard anything back, but they mailed the renewal packet to the correct address so i knew they had gotten it and made the change.

Cool, i called and left a message the other day and never heard back. I assumed your permit needs to match your license address wise.

Better call and make sure what days they are processing CCW's. They only do it on certain days in Batesville. Took me 3 trips to get mine done there.
One time I had the day wrong, other time they were shut down for a meeting, finally 3rd time a charm.

I applied for mine on 12/5 and was the only person in that section of the building that day. I received it yesterday, so they are currently 42 days turnaround time.

Monday's in brookhaven. I got there at 7:35 monday and was number 10 in line. The doors opened at 8 and I was walking out at 8:55. However by 8:30 they put up a sign on the door that no more could get in line cause they had enough to last all day.

I guess the word to the wise is get there 30-45 minutes before the doors open and it will save you hours into the day.
