Well got through with Christmas this morning and since I havent been out in the woods since last week decided too see how I could aggrivate my wife so I told her since I had been doing the family thing and was felling a bit axious I though I might have too take a quick trip and sling a few dekes. Hmmmmmm she said since I had been such a good boy the last couple of days she didnt care [img]images/smiles/icon_eek.gif[/img] so I got my 10year old too go and called a couple of ppl too see if they had seen any new ducks this week end and to my amazement [img]images/smiles/icon_eek.gif[/img] they said that they hadnt seen a flight duck yet. Anyway i still had too go, so my son and I got all our stuff together and took off going to a hole I knew if we had any new ducks down they would be some there after about a 3/4 mile walk through the woods Got to the slough and guess what I saw............. not a dang thing not one duck nowhere in the air or on the water [img]images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif[/img] I though to myself drove 30 miles walked 3/4 of a mile in and. stayed there all of 10 min. then started back too the truck.. All I could say to my son was........... "well this is duck huntin for ya monroe county style" [img]images/smiles/icon_sad.gif[/img] but we did manage to have a few laughs along the way [img]images/smiles/icon_razz.gif[/img] ............. No ducks yet that I can tell!!!!!!!!!!!ps talked to 3 other ppl(people) and they all said the same thing...........NO NEW DUCKS YET!!!!!!!!

pretty much the same report here in the north... they are on the way and will be here at anytime... next thing you know this board will light up with success stories from my end all the way to the coast and La... i got hopes and as i do every year, i expect too much too soon... it is gettin PRIME TIME... just be ready.... glad you and son had a good time even with out ducks... those times will be remembered...
