Primos Trailcams = Junk
i have purchased 3 trutch ultra 35's. i have had to take all three back at least once to get a working unit.
i ended up exchanging one for a moultire m80xt
i exchanged another for a truth 46
Now the ultra 46 and the ultra 35 do not work worth a flip. the 35's night pictures are useless, you can only see 10' and this thing will only take 100 pics on a set of brand new energizers
The ultra 46 will only take 25-50 pics before the battery dies in it.
i have spent enough in gas money to buy 6 cameras, and there so called customer service take about 2-3 months to get an replacement or repair.
i'm fed up, looks like i will be making the drive to flora and dropping them off.

I called primos customer support - they told me the SD card was my problem, and that i had to designate an SD card for that particular Camera and that i must be check the SD card on the Desktop and Delete and reformat before re-installling in the camrea.
Well this sucks for me because i only have a computer at the office. and i like to use my digital cam to check trail cams in the field. she said my digital camera was causing a formatt problem with my trail cam.
i say they are full of bull, i had a brand new out of the pack SD card in a brand new Truth ultra 46, and it took no pics and ate all my new energizer bats.
any body else have any problems with these cameras?

Re: Primos Trailcams = Junk
I got one of those Blackouts this Christmas and so far no problems. Had 256 pictures the first time because I left it on the three shot mode but the batteries are fine. Only problem was some blank pictures, I had it aimed down a road. I guess it is better to watcha feeder or mineral lick because it says close range and has a 1.5 second trigger speed. It hard to beat those Wild Game ones for the price and battery life and they are pretty quick.

JD mine did the same thing until I updated the software. You have to download the program onto the SD card and the camera will do the rest. Mine worked great... good enough for someone to steal it not long after I got it working right.

I agree my 35 ultras are horrible when it comes to the trigger distance

i tried to update my 35, i didnt' make a difference.
i ended up taking the 46 back to where i bought it from today. i am completely done with Primos camera, I would much rather buy one that works and not have to down load new software for do "special things" to the memory card to keep them working.
the moultrie M80 Xt seems to be working well.

Re: Primos Trailcams = Junk
I ran 3 moultrie m80 blackouts this year without one complaint. Excellent battery life too.
Re: Primos Trailcams = Junk
I had issues with 3 or 4 primos, but they always replaced them no problem and sometimes upgraded the camera. will I buy another one? maybe.
I've also had some serious issues with bushnell trophy cams, but they replace them as well.
Good customer service goes a long way in my book and both companies have it. You've got to remember, you are leaving a piece of electronic equipement out in the elements 24/7. they aren't going to last forever.

Dumped a pile of corn on the ground in front of a 46. Corn was gone but no pics and the batteries were almost dead. Guess it evaporated.
JD, I will stick with Moultrie too. Had the same ones for 3 years and no problems.

Re: Primos Trailcams = Junk
I made the mistake of buying 2-46's that were "refurbished." Pieces of junk! Had to send both of them back within 2 weeks as they wouldn't even turn on...tried new batteries, everything. Finally got them back in, one is still working, the other one took a dump last week. I don't know what their refurb procedure is, but it must not be to good. The lady there I talked to when I called about the first ones I had said, and I quote, "don't buy any more of these refurb cameras, they are pieces of junk and we have a ton of them returned!" Wish i'd known that before I bought them.

Re: Primos Trailcams = Junk
Got two 46's. one works great, the other will not light up on occasions making the pics unviewable.
