OK, all responses welcome here!!
Me and JaMak84 were hunting public land this morning. We got there around 5:45 or so maybe a little closer to 6 Anyway it was still dark. We put our decoys and set up against the trees. around 6:45 or so, very cloudy out so you still coudn't see very well, another boat comes in. We shine our light three or four times and he keeps on comin. He gets about 100 yards from us and shuts his motor down. We holler at him and he yells, this is my spot, I put my decoys out last night didn't you see them!! WTH, PUBLIC land and the jerk honestly thought that was going to save his spot. Anyhow, we weren't jerks right then, we told them there was plenty room, come on in and set up next to us and join us. They come on in and the old man in the group of four was THE BIGGEST peepee I've ever met while duck hunting!! I politely yet sternly, told the old man, Look, you got a choice, you can pick up and leave, stay here and have a good time and all six of us can kill some ducks or you can continue to be an "turd-cutter" and I can guarantee aint NONE of us gonna kill a bird!! Which one you want. He finally shut up. THEN! he had teal and some Gadwall come in on his side PLENTY close enough to wear em out and he watches em go by. Finally ONE mallard lands in the middle of the decoys, he watched it, It got up and then FINALLY he shoots it. The whole time the other three hunting with him seem scared to even BREATH!!
There was plenty other words exchanged but that's the gist of it all!!
Well, THat was our experience this morning, no ducks, but we darn sure got us one good "turd-cutter"!!!

Now that I think about, the thing that pisses me off the most is that we actually took the time to put our decoys out. Had we seen his we could've saved ourselves some time by hunting them or had 'em bagged up and ready for him when they decided to finally get there.

Anything left over night is consider abandon. So you could have got them. Check the rules

Yeah, that I know. And I actually told him he was crazy for leaving them out there on a public lake like that. He was still in amazement that we didn't see his decoys IN THE DARK!!

I tried. I asked them if they were from Greenville and all I got from the old man was a YEP. Very short, and very rude. He was a total peepeeSkeeter wrote:well, did yall kiss and make up at the end? seriously.....did it ever get cordial? how long did yall hunt for? we sat out in the driving rain today and kill 5 ducks and 2 snakes...
Re: JERKS on Public Land this morning
public land is always interesting. had this happen to me a few years ago.
my kennel got stolen out of the back of my truck at a walmart. later that season, was at a public landing within 30 miles of the walmart, and there was my kennel, i knew it was mine cause it had some stickers are i had put on it that the da decided not to take off, same stickers same spot. i would have taken it back but he had his dog in there and i didnt have the heart to let someones dog jus sit(call me what u want) but even though he stole it a mans dog isnt worth me getting a 50 dollar kennel back. so i called a law enforcement friend, ran his tag, found out his name, info, where he worked, where he lived, and so on, and then left him a note on his truck explaining that i didnt take my kennel because of his dog, but thanks to my local law enforcement connections, i now knew where he lived, what he did, and so on, and that some point, i would get my kennel back. i never missed with it again cause i didnt want break the law to to get a kennel back, but i figured whoever it was prolly treated water pretty lightly for a while wondering if today was going to be the day i came back for my kennel.
that and the fact that i couldnt prove he took it. a friend may have gave it to him for all i know, or he found it on the side of the road or bought it. either way, i couldnt do it, overall i had a hard time believing that person took it after finding out what he did for a living, but thats my public land story.

If it wasn't for bad luck then i would have no luck at all........

Wow that's pretty cool story! Not sure if i'd been so cool about it stuff gets me to worked up sometimes. Good idea about the note though. And reguardless of what anyone does some people steal. But you might be right maybe he found it or got it from the person that took it or whatever.
