MHP Jackson - Firearms permit

Postby country_20boy » Wed Jan 09, 2013 3:31 pm

I stopped by today to drop off my paperwork for my CCP application and the line was over 4 hrs long, so I left b/c I had to get back to the office. Is it like this everyday now? or did I just pick a bad day? I guess I am going to have to set aside a vacation day next week and just get in line?

Anybody else been there this lately?

I applied formine the first of December. I printed out the application and had it all filled out. Walked in, paid, picture, fingerprint, and out the door in 10-15 mins. They only do certain ones on certain days. Be there when they open the door and you wont have to wait long.

The key is to get there early. I'm sure the 4+ hour wait is due to recent events, but when I got mine a few years ago, I went early. Even then if you waited you'd have a long line to deal with.

I guess it all depends on who is working the counter that day because I went on a Monday a few years ago and the lady had no problem working mine request for me.

Was there 2 weeks ago. Arrived at 10:30 and left at 12:00. I was number 12 in line. When I left, they were passing out number 26. Recent events caused me to apply for mine and it appears other have jumped on board.

Usually a quick process, but the requests have picked up as of late.. My classes are Over booked with waiting lists now all the way through the 1st of March. Guns are out of stock and my phone has been ringing off the hook.. I had 13 people sign up for classes yesterday alone.
