Duck Reports - 12/23 and 12/24

12/24 (Greenwood/Malmaison area)
Just me and my 11yr old nephew, and we got our limit by 8:00am. What a hoot! He had never killed a duck before, so I let him have the first shot at every bunch. He did real good for little fellow standing on a chair with a 20 guage. He had his 6 before I got mine. His first greenhead was a big fat one that was in good shape, so I'm going to get it mounted for him.

Not much other shooting in the brake though. Guess the Lord shined down on my and my little buddy.

12/24-Me and my ten year old went down Pearl River this morning to my favorite area.Didn't kill any ducks, but we saw thousands, mostly woodies and mallards mixed, flying high and scattered all over the place. Now,if we can just pin point about where they're goin down.Pearl is real high and flooded, which gives them too many options. The little fellow was amazed at the numbers we were seeing, but couldn't understand why we couldn't break out the missle launchers.hehehe

12/23/01
North Delta
Flooded Beans
4 Hunters
7 Ducks (6 Gads and 1 Teal [all drakes])
The fewest ducks seen all year.
We expected Christmas Eve to be better...

12/24/01(Christmas Eve)
North Delta
Flooded Rice
2 Hunters
-Skunked- {only the second time this year}
We hoped some new birds would arrive; obviously, that wasn't the case.

We'll, maybe Ole' Saint Nick will deliver some Greenheaded presents to all the good little duck hunter boys and girls tonight...

Happy Holidays

Central Delta: 2guns. 0 shots fired and 0 ducks. Saw very few ducks. Snow geese everywhere. Sounds like and airplane taking off. Damn things just taunt you. Fly right over you about 2 miles high smoking cigarettes

Prentiss ,ms.

No ducks except for the prints, decorative decoys, and mount, but I've got to be the happiest man on earth this morning. Thank God for family.
