The wicked good is the best. Second best is the kind Sam's sells which i havent bought in a while. Out of the ones i have used.

In Brandon 101 cypress way in the industrial complexrebelceb wrote:I normally always just used to Primo brand because that is what my grill is and I knew where to get it. I have had a hard time finding the lump at the grocery and all, but must just not be looking hard enough.
That said, this last time I was hard up for some and Persnickety in Madison was out of charcoal, so I got some BGE from Madison fireplace. I hadn't cleaned the grill out really good in awhile so some small lumps were stopping the air from flowing real well, and the damn grill cooked like a champ and the bag I got happened to have a lot of good big chunks in it.
Not sure if that is the normal for BGE, but it seemed to have better lumps and seemed to cook better. Dunno if it was the charcoal or the fact I cleaned the grill lol YMMV
ETA- I have heard of the Bayou Classic grills and know they are local to the Jackson area, but where exactly are they located to go try some of their charcoal and/or accessories?

It comes in oak, hickory, and some other varieties. You can tell it's made from cut wood and not hardwood scraps from a molding mill too. No joke, I had a few pieces of charcoal corner molding in one bag of Royal oak. I use the Hickory variety of the B&B and it is great.

May check with you guys this weekend either headed to or from NOLA
Re: Favorite Brand Lump Charcoal?
Bayou classic is the best I've used as of now. Larger chunks than the royal oak and also burns/last longer.
