Benny not sure about the exact time but I let about 5 gallons sit in my boat one time and it gummed up the carburator. Probably stayed in the boat about 6 months before running it again. Ever since then I get some of that STP gas treatment stuff and use it before I put anything up for a period of time and it seems to work pretty good. Sorry for the vague answer not a mechanic.

oxygenates are very stable and do not contribute to the formation of gums. It is the oxygen in the air that reacts with olefins to form gums. As noted in the Chevron treatise, gasoline storage containers should be kept full (to exclude air) and should be kept tightly closed.
So keep it full and keep the air out of it and it will last longer than you

It loses its octane rating with age from what I understand. Also, you don't want to leave the container in an area that is subject to extreme temperature changes (in the sun). As the container warms and cools, the air that is inside will condense and form water on the inside of the container, which if left out long enough, could contaminate your gas.
Sometimes the best call is no call at all...
Benny, if you are going to store it and haven't done so yet, get you some stabil and let it go. That stuff is awesome. Use it in all my boat gas tanks and it keeps for a long time. For example, my go devil gas can sits idle from Feb-Nov. and with Stabil I have yet to have a problem and I find my carb can be VERY finicky. Anyway I like Stabil a lot if you havent tried to store it YET.
