Go Pro video cam ?

Postby Mike Perry » Sun Dec 02, 2012 6:17 pm

Any one have or ever used one?
Thinking of getting one for myself one of these for Christmas (I deserve one) to use in training but I want to know if they will attach to a hat or do I need a helmet for a head mounted unit.
Might be cool to use to video some hunts also.

They make an attachment for a head strap like a headlamp flashlight. They are pretty awesome little cameras. Look on youtube for gopro videos to see the quality.

I have some friends I have guided several times from north Alabama who use the go pro cameras and strap them to their "Jag Terriers" or the best dog in the bunch, that's a sight to see! Check out some of their footage on YouTube...... Shinklegundog! Oh and it is hog hunting so you see bushing flying past you then you see the hog.... Cameras seem to hold up pretty good too!

I bought a new one a few weeks before season started. Love mine. Been mounting to a tree or blind and have it linked to my phone via blue tooth and can see what I'm filming and can turn it on and off without touching it. Got a bunch of good footage so far. Just got to do some editing still. Well worth it.

I've wanted one for a while. My cousin has stuck em on skis and wakeboards and gotten some really nice footage.

Love mine as well. I use the head strap mount, but am considering a shotgun mount. What do y'all use to edit your videos?

couple boys in our camp have them. they have worn them on their head for hunts (deer, and duck) and it's pretty cool footage. we have also mounted them in the decoy spread looking back toward the hunters. i don't own one but have seen their footage and how easy the are to use and operate, they are awesome.

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day
and THAT is a duck hunt.

they work good. Head mount is awesome. my only complaint is that they are really more for close ups. Not sure how happy you'll be trying to film long retrieves. This is all with the headband while trying to do other stuff.

My favorite song! Video is great too. Have they figured out how to lessen the "birds eye" effect yet...or whatever you call it?
