Any type of oily residue left on the finish of these guns will usually react to the dye used in the linings of most gun cases. The dying process reacts to oil. This is what ruins most finishes. Make sure you wipe ur gun dry after cleaning and dont store it in a gun scabbord. I've got duratouch finish guns over ten years old with no signs of finosh damage. I clean em all with Lube All inside and out.fieldt76 wrote:I had an SBE II and the camo was rubbing off just from pulling it in and out of the gun case. I just don't think it's made to hold up very well.
Most any skeeter repellent (especially anything with deet in it) will eat the finish off any gun. Wood or otherwise. You have to be careful using that stuff around ur guns.
