Thanksgiving Buck

Postby jsthntn » Tue Nov 27, 2012 4:22 pm

Got fat eating Thanksgiving dinner and walked 200 yards down the hill behind the father-in-laws house and this walked out in the food plot. Easiest hunt i've ever had and biggiest deer so far.

Congrats on a big buck. Great character too. I keep hoping something like that will step out and I won't miss.

Fellas, I've hunted this stand thanksgiving and Christmas afternoon for the last 4 years and this is the first year I've seen a deer. Everybody around them owns 2-5 acres and blast everything that moves. The biggest deer killed on this place in the last 30 years was 125", most bucks are spikes or button bucks killed here. This was a freaking miracle. My taxidermist used to hunt this place with my brother in law and said I was FOS, no way that deer came from there. Keep plugging away fellas, you never know what's gonna walk out.

Dang we're growing some good deer down here now. There's really been some bruisers taken around the state already. Can't imagine what the rut is gonna bring.

D@mn, I just noticed how tall the brow tines were too. In the pics you texted me, I could tell the 2s, 3s, and beams were long, but I overlooked the brows!
