I get building a case but the first time is that not enough? Sounds to me like multiple counts that will be tossed out. That's like accompanying me to rob a bank then wait till I hit 4 to say ok that's enough.

Sounds to me like they let it build up enough so that they could confiscate his land in the refuge to cover the cost of the fines. Still doesn't make everything he did ok though.

Hey deltahunter, we were in the little beige trailer just behind you guys. I hope you are all doing well. We bought a place of our own bout 30 miles down the road. Personally I can't be believe they finally caught the old game warden. And for the guy who said I hope he has a good lawyer...he won't need one. One of my best friends and the finest caller to ever hunt Matthews (for the last few decades) described him best years ago..."Pass is the devil".... :o

The federal government has wanted that property since they purchased the majority of the brake in the 80's. Im not defending Pass Taylor. I'm sure he is guilty on most of the counts but that's just the way federal government works. A two year sting operation to make sure enough will stick with fines that exceed a million dollars. They wanted this property and they will most likely end up with it by putting away a 78 years old for the rest of the life. I'd rather have the NAACP end up with this property than the federal government. Screw The Federal Government!!!

+1. I have no idea who Pass is, but if during the ins and outs of this prosecution, it appears that he is going to be have to pay out on the charged fines, I sure hope he sells to some private sector individual or group of individuals so that the feds to not confiscate his land (and I don't even know where the land is). The federal government appears to be out of control.

It has noting to do with his land he was raping the resources that we all love to hunt. Pass was a total crook who was charging people to hunt on public land. I for one hope they burn his ***

I'm sure If they could they placed a lien on the property so he couldn't sell it or transfer it pretty close to the time charges were gonna come out. I would have if I wanted it or not to make sure I got my money

If it means keeping the land or watching his father died in prison, I'd bet on the son selling the land to keep that from happening. I wouldn't be surprised if a deal has already been cut with the government to swap land for no prison time. I know first hand how our government works. If they want something, they will find a way to get it. BTW, I'm not defending Pass. But the federal government is more crooked.

Model 12 i remember you guys well. Thought about yall when i drove by the old camp site. When the deal went sour with Pass we packed up our stuff and moved the camp to Morgan City. We are currently leasing some land in the area and we are looking forward to hunting the Brake again for the first time since we left.
