Youth model shotguns

Santa Clause needs some advise on some guns. I hvnt done much research on this. It will be my sons first shotgun. Give me some info

this is the one. The beretta and the weatherby have barrels that are too long in my opinion. The 1100 has a 20 inch barrel but they are hard to find. If you find a place that has them, please post it because my FIL wants to get one for my daughter.

Mossberge makes a semi auto called an SA20. It comes in a youth model and full size both of which i own. I really like mine. They are gas operated and the recoil is low.

How old is the child and how experienced with guns. If you buy him an auto and he does not have much experience with guns you may want to get one with the shut off so he can only fire one at a time until you trust him to go semi auto.

I grew up shootin an adult sized 1100 20 gauge with a lopped off stock. Bought my oldest son a benelli small frame (youth), but bought my oldest a emington youth. I found that the Remington is WAY too heavy for practical wingshooting. I'd suggest a benelli or, to save money, the franchi brand youth. They're lighter. Same as I was started on an auto, my sons were instructed one shell only until the safety and their shooting proficiency improved. After they pulled the trigger, the action was open and required reloading.

BPS Micro. I had one, my son has one waiting for him when he gets big enough and you control the rate of fire and it's fun for a little kid to rack the action. I learned to shoot a pump gun and shot it well for many years until I saved up for a Citori. Still have the Citori and bought a big boy BPS last year after trying the latest and greatest semi autos. And yes, it's still fun to rack the action

I found my boy a 20ga m2 dipped for 600. Its to big for him now but lawd i can't pass that deal up
