LA Opener; Just a little cast and blast

First time for the LA opener. We finished our three limits by 6:30 on sat and it took a bit bit longer on sunday, but we got the job done. All gadwalls and 4 widgeon. Then we went searching for the trout. Didn't catch any trout but we hooked up on some big reds. Right before we headed back I ended up catching a 24" flounder, not sure the weight but it was a slab...

Anyone else have a good weekend?

a 12 man limit saturday we all got our limit of redheads and canvasbacks finished the limit with ringnecks a pintail and a greenwing. Saturday only three of us made the hunt and killed 16 ringnecks and two canvasbacks. I grew up shooting divers and had a great time doing it this weekend.

South East La is gonna be tough hunting this year. 14 birds in 3 hunts. but we caught over 100 specks so that kind of eased the pain. you boys in cental and north Ms gonna see my plates alot more than last year, hope everybody has better luck with the birds than we did

Why is that?

That storm took all the natural aquatics from my hunting area(Reggio to be specific), which basically means we will hold ducks for a day or two after a front rolls in, but then they will leave for feed. Its always been like that, been hunting down there for the last 17 years. Im just glad I have friends in Ms. There are a couple others on the board that down there and can tell you the same thing
