just wondering who is doing you molding??? i have been making calls for ~5-6 yrs now and polycarb mold setup is pricey.. but on the other end the return to get a cheaper call out to the customer and faster turn around might be worth the investment. just another option for me since all my calls are usually pretty complex calls that take me a lot of time to build.. for instance this call took me 8+ hrs to make. had Arkansas state waterfowl stamp inside acrylic and DU 75 aniversary coin embedded inside the base. where as not everyone would like a call that expensive or "too pretty to hunt with" and thats where i think poly carb has its place...

and mods feel free to delete if you would like.. im not advertising just talking about making duck calls with another call maker.

Nothing special about your barrels, actually I don't like the looks of them
I have a purpose that has nothing to do with your assumptions...and your assumptions are COMPLETELY backwards...I don't buy anything from Rick Dunn and I am not a "barrell builder", if anything you got it 100% backwards....I'm impressed with your assumed knowledge of what I'm doing...either way, thanks for your input either way...I meet about 1000 people a year like you at show, hope you have a good season...
Amen.... Cam/ Deeksdown yall's calls look good... wish I had the time and talent to build calls and carve decoys.... Gotta be a high to hunt with calls and decoys you've made yourself.

that dang good looking call deeks...I sent you a PM

I wish I could do more stuff like that, but that's not really what I'm going after. I gotta produce more volume. Trying to make a call that doesn't sound like a plastic $20 off shelf, with a higher end sound, and a reasonable price tag...

duck-hunt: not sure what you're trying to prove, but not a lot else I can say. I spent a lot of time and money going through parts, modifications, and combinations trying to get a line of calls that was what we felt we needed for our line. We got it and got all our parts in and put together, wanted to snap a pic and see how they looked to some others, like if you saw this call in a package at the store with a mid range price would it attract your attention. It's not a hand whittle call from grandpaws cedar tree and I don't have a polycarbonate mold in my garage. So draw your own conclusions...not a lot left for my to say.

thanks, I'm running a business so it's not as artistic as you make it sound but it takes time and energy, I wish I could do more work like Deeks...but I'd go out of business

The call in the middle is awesome in my opinion they all look good enough to make me want to buy one or two especially with the price point. Cam I think you did a great job on these calls.

Good looking calls, as long as they kill ducks, you'll do just fine!
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.

Cam.....I really like the looks of all the calls...best of luck with them...all have a uniqueness. How do they sound? Too bad some of the forum primadonas can't be a little
more gracious. My 2 cents.

That's a nice range to be in I think. Especially if you have a good sound. Last time I checked, a DR-85 was selling for $25, and they don't look near as good as what you're putting out.

DR-85 doesn't look good, but it sounds like a duck. Say what you want, but I have a cracked/modified on my lanyard.

If that is an Echo insert, which it appears to be, some modifications may have been made, much like Winglock calls started out. Wish you the best in your venture.

have you tried buying a jig and making your own wood inserts? We make our inserts out of wood but of coarse the jig does nothing but the the shape started. We have to do a lot of filing and tuning to get just the right sound. It's fun though because I can turn a tune board out of cocobola and get one sound and turn bodock and get another. I recently tried something different.... very different. I been drying some dog wood i cut out of a friends yard and it sounds good. It has a mellow soft tone. Great looking barrels though!

I really like the DR85 and when we decided to do a duck call having a call easy to blow like a DR85 was the idea, but liked the idea of doing wood and poly instead of the plastic form...gives a better sound I think without jumping up in price.

We do a lot of jig work with some other products, and if we are able to sale duck calls like I want that's probably the next thing well do (actually working on something else first but i wanted to do an all wood duck call as well). This was just an idea to see if we could do a line of duck calls our customers would like and go from there.

Thanks, I don't know what mold the inserts are from but they worked best and were closest to what I wanted when started working on the calls.

I get it, you don't care for it b/c I don't have thousands invested in my own molded inserts and started off with bulk parts. I nevertheless invested a good bit in testing different ideas and modifying then putting these together and tuning with a certain concept in mind, as "original" as you wanna consider it; u proved your point.
