CVA Scout Rifles?
CVA Scout Rifles?
Anyone have one of these? Was thinking about getting one of these in .44 mag. Adv/Disadv vs handi rifle? Good reviews I've read so far on the net. Thanks.

I picked up a stalker, which is basically the same thing. Reason I went with the cva is rings vs rail. I dont trust scopes mounted on rails.cagoodwn wrote:Anyone have one of these? We have the Scout in 7mm 08.................for the money...............it is very very accurate.... i am partial because my buddy runs the company. but i could bought anything when shopping for a kids rifle however the features and benefits won me over versus a handy rifle and etc in that class. we shoot the 7mm008 in the reduced recoil. My son started shoooting it when he was 8... His 10 pt is now plastered on their website , i was just notified ... we bought the kit with the scope.. its been a great gun for us

Great gun for the money. Hands down much more comfortable to shoot over the handi rifle. Never shot one in a 44 but the 7mm-08 is as smooth a rifle u can ask for. The 35 whelen in it has a little brutal recoil unless you drop back to the new 175 grain bullet. That's the gun hornady designed tge 175 for anyway

I'm asking, what makes you think a scope mounted in rings attached to a rail is not reliable?rawalley wrote: Are you agreeing or asking a question?

I just feel like they could be knocked off easier. I could be completely wrong but it's still what swayed my purchase toward the cva. Doubt there is an argument out there that will change my mind.

Also I have never owned a gun w/ rails, so it's pure speculation.

Picanniny rails have been around a long time. I love em on high recoil guns. Lots of gun manufacturers are startinhg to incoperate them into the reciever which is even better. All cva scouts will be shipped with either Durasight or Tally one piece base and rings made together. As far as availibility on the .44 im not sure it's even offered in thst caliber but I will find out in the morn.rawalley wrote:Also I have never owned a gun w/ rails, so it's pure speculation.
