Re: LSU vs Bama
Piss on all this NFL team talk, I'll be happy with a win over LSwho in Death Valley Saturday night!
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.
Re: LSU vs Bama
Talked about this on one of the ESPN radio sHows today with couple former NFL players chiming in, they basically said it was laughable...quoted something to the effect the Chiefs wouldn't let Bama cross their own 40 yard line and theyd score however much they wanted. Said Brody Croyle or Matt Cassle would look like hall of fame QB's. They cited mostly that the matchup on the lines would be very very overmatched and that maybe some skill players could run with em and a make a play or two but that both lines would destroy a college team, even the best college lines against worse NFL lines...I know my paraphrasing sounds like they just manically debunked the notion, but listening to it they didn't have that overtone, it was well discussed and they made their points sound very legitimate...I believe what they were saying in the way they put itDeltamud77 wrote:The last time Bama was hyped as being able to compete with NFL teams (which I have been hearing all week), was 2010....they lost three games after the NFL-killer label was applied. ESPN ran a month long special on the 2005 USC team being the greatest of all time...then they lost to Vince Young and Texas at season's end.
That being said, you can go back and look at my pre-season predictions. I said this may go down as the best Bama team of all time. I think I am looking pretty good on that prediction. The entire O-Line, the QB, both RBs and the TE will all play in the NFL. Arguably the entire starting defense will play in the NFL. And they have IMO, the greatest collegiate coach in history coaching them. Maybe they could beat a bad NFL team.

I believe they are 100% correct cam! I think this BAMA team is great, but hanging with an NFL team is crazy!

Even some of the most bad booty college players are barely mediocre when it comes to pro ball....and I have never understood that.

Re: LSU vs Bama
I don't think that Bama would beat the Chiefs...but I bet it would not be a complete blowout. RG3 and Andrew Luck are putting up very similar numbers this year in the NFL as last year in college. Matt Cassell sucks in the NFL and would likely not be much of an improvement, if any, over McCarren. To that end, I would bet a lot of money that if McCarren declares for the draft and is drafted by the Chiefs, he would start over Cassell next season.
Every person on Bama's defense will get drafted over the next two to three years. Their entire O-line will get drafted in the next two years. They have three O-lineman that will be starters in the NFL next year.
This is an apples to oranges comparison, but I'll run with it anyway. When I was growing up, the thought of an academy team beating a public school team, any academy team beating any public school team, was laughable. Now they play each other, and unless things have changed a lot this year, the academies have a pretty commanding overall win-loss record over the public schools in the last 6-7 years.
Point being, if you can play and have the talent...you can play and have the talent. Chiefs versus Bama in Bryant-Denny...I'd say Chiefs 21-10....maybe 28-10...I don't think it would be a "blowout" in the way Bama is blowing out everyone on their schedule.

Well so far all the calls are going LSUs way.Greenhead22 wrote:Over and Under - How many flags are thrown in this game?
Lucky if there is 3, and they'll have to be blatant.

Yeah, I ham impressed by LSUs OL. I know they have struggled some this year but have come around. Mettenberger looking better too but I expected LSU to come out and give Bama all they could handle.

Well two unforced fumbles is keeping LSU in the game.
