Duck Hunting Tragedy

Postby Bobby Williams » Thu Dec 20, 2001 7:01 pm

16 year old Demopolis youth in desperate need of all of our Prayers. Robbie Henson has lost one eye completely, most of one hand, and nose had to be reconstructed because of a duck hunting accident. Let us all do our part and ask our God to give this kid the strenght to over come this tragedy. I was told that when they got him to the hospital he told the people not to cut off his waders or hunting jacket because he would be needing them as soon as he got out of there. Now that is a duck hunter. The good news is he will live but he will never be normal again. Please everyone be careful with you guns it could have been you or me.

Bobby, did you ever find out how it happened? Not to be goulish, just sounds like a blown up barrel from the description of the injuries.
I know you said it was frankie yelvertons nephew. Thats the guy owns skeet right? Met him at the grand and talked with him a while one night. We'll be praying. travis

It is always a tragedy when a child is injured, no matter what the cause. Does anyone know what happened?

He is in our Prayers. Hopefully we can learn from this tragedy and and not make the same mistake.(God has a purpose for every thing.)
Remember, it only takes a second to ruin a lifetime.

God Bless

Sorry to hear about the young man and I will definatly say a prayer for him and his family. I like goosebruce would like too know what happend not too be goulish but to let my sons read about it, so maybe they will take a little more heed when I preach too them about gun safety. That no matter how safe you are that accidents can and do happen. I dont know how many times I have told them that a unloaded gun has killed a many a person. I wont forget the look on my kids face the first time I made that statement but after I explained it too them they understood. I really hope that he will be ok and he can return to doing the sport that he loves so much. My thoughts and prayer are with him and his family @ this time...........................MIKE

ps..... Take a kid hunting the future of the sport may depend on it.....Good Luck and may GOD bless each of you this year

Man, what a tragedy. Was dove hunting one afternoon and witnessed a 17 year old fatally shot and killed by girlfriend. What a terrible loss it was for our community. He was an avid outdoorsmen but you can never be too careful.

God will provide!!

May God Bless and watch over him. I got the word yesterday that my good friend and National Guard buddy had a severe stroke Tuesday while home alone. His name is Joe Marrucci and he is around 25yrs old. He got married in the last year, doesn't smoke, and is living a healthy life. Now his right side is paralyzed and his speech is damaged. Please pray for him too..Makes you stop and wonder if you're living right and how lucky we really have it. So what no ducks so far....they will come, just thank God for your health and family, everything else is petty.

What a crying shame! My family will include Robbie and his family in our prayers as well as all the other outdoorsman that frequent this site for a very safe season. Here's hoping that each of you pay attention and practice firearm safety. May God's precious hand continue to give healing to Robbie.
