For 2.56 you cant go wrong. This one is what I have and I vouch for it being a good one, they have gone up some since we ordered last. Here is the link that started all this:

That was the one a lot of folks had problems with. Stick with the original:

I got the one duramax recommened right after he posted about it. That sucker is still going strong. I was very skeptical, and only got one. That thing has been dropped in the mud, left in the pocket of soaking wet hunting jacket and forgotten about. Ive used it in a downpour, and it keeps on ticking!

I have had the same experience. My only complaint with the headlight is the same as with every other flashlight I've owned and liked, they magically disappear like a sock in a dryer. I've probably bought close to 10 of those head lights and can only account for 3.

Duramax is correct; I failed to notice in the picture the difference. You must get the one with the siver front and lens cone. Have not had any problems with the 5 I bought. Good luck all.

I got 4 of the headlamps. I was planning to keep 2 and give 2 as gifts...that's not gonna happen. I'm hoarding them now. I've got a mess of small single AA lights on the way too.

My question is this. I understand the cost benefit of little to no marketing and not having mark up from US retailers. I can't for the life of me figure out how some US retailer has not put these things in every store selling to anybody interested in flashlights. I saw some CREE lights in Cabelas that were marketed up extensively. Is that the answer...we are just avoiding the mark up? Or has this already been discussed?

I saw some similar at Costco one time. It was a 3 pack of 150 or 200 lumen cree no-name brand flashlights, but they were $30.

But you are right. If I owned a local hunting/outdoors store, I'd hook up with one of these chinese retailers and get these things in a blister pack to look good and sell them for $20 a pop.

I got the 1600 headlamp in a couple of days ago. It kicks those little 300 lumen lights square in the nuts. No more cold hands for this guy running a spot light in the mornings!

So, I've been reading and I am throughly confused. Can someone post the link for the 1600 light and the rechargable batteries and which ones are legit and where to order to get them a little quicker?

I honestly do think I can run a boat at night with this light. I havent held it up side by side to a million candle power spotlight, but my guess is that it would be close to comparable...

Mine took damn near a month to get here, but the guy notified me when I bought it that he was having issues with his supplier. He gave me the option of a refund, but I said to ship it whenever he got it in. As soon as his supplier got him a light it was here in about 7 days.
